Q: why do you use encapsulated lactic acid and where is it derived from?

The lactic is used for shelf stability and it helps to keep the texture of the meat. It's derived from non-GMO sugar cane and it's created in a process in which the sugars are fermented into the acid. There is no sugar remaining in the acid once converted which is how there is no sugar in our products. Also, despite the name, there is no dairy in the lactic, or in any CHOMPS products. Thanks!

Q: What is this "grass" finished beef. Used to be 100% grass fed beef

Hi there, All of our beef has always been 100% Grass Fed & Finished Beef. Grass fed & finished means that the animals were fed grass throughout their entire lives. A lot of companies will say that their meat is grass fed, but then they’ll feed the animals grains to kind of fatten them up a bit. Our cows only grass throughout their entire lives!
