I was truly amazed how well this register worked. It did an excellent job helping to heat a very cold mud room in the winter. Recently I moved it to our bedroom during a heat spell with high humidity. The circulation in our forced air furnace which our heat pump is connected to isn’t great. Our bedroom was very warm. This register help to cool off the room very quickly. It was like a different room after the register ran for a short period of time. The manual was simple and clear and the message was if you have any issues at all contact us immediately! I would buy again.

I have an upstairs bedroom with a north window that was always too hot. Even setting the HVAC system fan on "continuous/high" it was 79-80 degrees in late afternoon when the sun hit the window.Keeping our HVAC fan continuous/high, I experimented with the options on this unit. Having the fan on this booster set at max speed (5) did cool the room to 74-75 degrees on a hot sunny day. The cool setting worked as well and I could set the fan to the max speed, also.Note the small area for the thermostat so it doesn't block the vent much. This measures the temp IN THE VENT. I set it at 75 degrees so anything lower than that and the fan would operate. Higher that that it will shut off.This unit is 200CFM where the others are lower so that really helps move more air. The light can be turned off and the unit still works as set. It installs easily.It's a little noisy at speed 10, but it gets quieter when the fan is on lower settings. If on the "Cool" setting, the fan comes on and off automatically, but it soft starts and the noise gradually increases.

No more expensive portable room air conditioners that last less than 5 years!! These work to cool living areas: kitchen in the mornings, bedroom at night. Can't say they are 'quiet' when fan is set to high (8-10), but it's not invasive, more like airplane engine noise at cruise altitude (white noise actually puts most people to sleep, the reason so many people take a flying nap). Settings are simple to make and so far, no problem with digital panel working as expected.Important Note: these plug into electrical outlet, so carefully consider whether they can plug in near your target register vents. Elec cord is reasonably long.I've only used these for one month (summer) with central ac cooling, so can't speak to longevity, but with my bdrm door closed for an hour before bedtime, they bring temperature down abt 10 degrees (with ac running, then I turn central hvac off at bedtime, bdrm stays cool all night). Colder rooms help with getting to sleep.One more thing. These vent units measure the air temp blowing from the vent, not the room temperature. You select the vent temp -- for summer mine is set to come on when vented air is below 70; next winter over 80. Note: an issue arises when trying to set both at same time (not a flaw, issue is covered in instructions), simple to set it once per season.

I have grown to love these... if you want a little boost, you can get them down to quite quiet, if you need to pull more air it can do that too, and still quite manageable. I like how it turns on and off when the a/c or heat is on! The casing is attractive, and the display turns off when you're not using it (so no extra light in the room when trying to sleep).
