A Must-Have for Pixar and LEGO Fans!
This LEGO Pixar set is absolutely amazing! The quality of the bricks, the vibrant colors, and the attention to detail truly capture the magic of the Pixar movies. It’s perfect for both kids and adults who grew up loving these stories. The building experience was fun and rewarding. The instructions were easy to follow, and the final result looks fantastic on display. My child was thrilled and spent hours playing and creating new adventures. Definitely worth the purchase — a well-made, fun, and magical set. Highly recommended!

Great Build!
One of the most enjoyable builds that I've done in a bit! Looks great on the shelf, and I love the little Easter egg. It should have come with a light block for the price but I'd recommend grabbing an aftermarket one.

Great LEGO Technic set of Pixar's first character
In Aug 1986, I attended the annual ACM SIGGRAPH computer graphics conference, which was in Dallas that year. As part of the conference's computer graphics film show, two guys who had left George Lucas's Industrial Light & Magic to form a new company called Pixar showed their first 2-min animated film. It was called Luxo, Jr., and was the first time a 3D object (a desk lamp) was animated to create a character and tell a story. The auditorium full of computer graphics nerds (including me) all stood up and cheered. So, when I saw this LEGO set, I had to order it immediately. The set is essentially a LEGO Technic set, with standard LEGO and Technic parts as well as a lot of unique parts. The instructions are very clear, and are organized into four parts, as are the pieces: 1) the ball, 2) the base, 3) the arm, and 4) the lamp. The ball, base, and lamp include groups of hidden pieces that (abstractly) represent various other Pixar characters (Buzz and Woody, Nemo and Dory, etc.) It took me 5-6 hours to assemble, over several 60-90 min sessions. The entire lamp rotates on the base, and the head of the lamp can be aimed in different directions on a ball joint. The arm has some very limited movement, but is essentially held in place by two elastic bands that act as springs. My only nit-picking complaint is that the lamp is too white - it should be a darker gray to match the film.

My 13yr old son absolutely loved this set! There are so many little Easter eggs within the build that it was an absolute experience and a joy to assemble. Took him about an hour to build all in, including showing me all the features! It actually does "jump" with a little Lego ingenuity!

If you’ve been looking to shed some light on your LEGO collection, look no further. This set is absolutely de-light-ful. I was worried it might be a bit dim, but honestly, it’s the highlight of my shelf. Building Luxo Jr. wasn’t just a task; it was a total light-bulb moment. Pixar fans will agree that this set really steps up to the plate (just watch out for that ball!). It’s a brilliant tribute to the lamp that started it all. The "Bright" Side (Pros) A "Watt"-er of Art: The design is incredibly sleek. It doesn't just look like a toy; it’s genuine room de-core. Perfectly Balanced: Unlike my morning coffee intake, this lamp is perfectly weighted and stable. It won’t trip the light fantastic off your desk. Fan Service: Including the iconic Pixar ball was a rounded decision. It really completes the scene. Low Energy, High Impact: It’s a relaxing build that doesn't burn you out. The "Shadowy" Details (Cons) Static Shock: It doesn’t actually plug in or light up, which left me feeling a little dim, but it glows in spirit! Space Invader: It has a slightly larger footprint than you’d expect—make sure you have enough room to let it shine. Joint Custody: The hinges are great, but you have to be careful not to over-extend yourself during the posing process. Final Verdict: O-lamp-ic Gold! If you want a set that’s striking and full of character, this is it. Don’t be afraid of the dark—add this to your cart and let your inner child beam with joy.
