A: Not in the side pockets, they can withstand up to 22 oz cups

**Q: will this be big enough for my 8th grader to use at school? she carries a chromebook plus a binder and a book or 2**
A: Yes!  I purchased this same bag for my daughter when she entered 10th grade.  She used it through high school, all 4 years of college and it is still in amazing shape.  It will hold a laptop, a binder and a book!

**Q: Will either of the side pockets hold a 40 ounce water container?**
A: I don’t think so.

A: Hi!  I adore the "Jester" North Face Laptop backpack.  It is the perfect size for my 15 inch laptop and all of my teacher supplies.  I do not think it will be too large for a woman with a 5'1" heighth.

Straps are kinda far apart and the bag is very oval shaped so it looks kinda funny to me but it still slays Hard in school
