Accurate location & great activity data, but occasional random signal drops
The location tracking on this GPS tracker is very accurate and provides excellent data on my dog's activity — including movement patterns, rest periods, and daily activity levels. It's been a great tool for keeping tabs on my dog and understanding his behavior throughout the day. The app is intuitive and the live tracking feature works really well most of the time. However, there are occasional moments where the tracker shows no signal for no apparent reason, which can be a bit frustrating when you want real-time updates. It doesn't happen constantly, but it's noticeable enough to mention. Overall, it's a solid product that delivers on its core promise — I just hope future firmware updates can address the random signal drops.

Got through initial setup, now very pleased (so far)
Really loving the map, the tracking, very cool. Wish I'd had this 25 years & one escape artist labrador ago. Note: I did have trouble getting the 6 month subscription to show up. No activation code and no option not to buy the 1 year subscription so putting in this review to address that. No, you do not need to buy a 1 year subscription. If you don't see the "activate 6 months" option, let customer service know. They fixed it for me within hours and now all is well. Also, it had an extend 6 more months for $10 option (which I took), which should also be a price consideration (tracker+12 month subscription for $89). I was trying to decide between Fi and Tractive, and decided to go with this because when you are looking for your dog, 1 minute updates are not enough to catch them imo -- it has to be seconds. Also think this one will be more durable for rough housing. Really like the map they have. I took the advice in these reviews and put a couple of zip ties on it just in case. Only had it 24 hours but really like it so far after initial set up issue.

Crap way of attaching to the collar
Absolutely no problem with the gps. I traveled from Texas to PA with my brother tracking our progress so well that he was able to know exactly when to walk out to the street to wave us in. Huge problem with the method of attachment to the collar. It’s just a flexible piece similar to a rubber band. You hook it on one side of the tracker, slip it under the collar and then pull it until it stretches far enough to hook on the other side. Guess what happens if you search for “Tractive rubber clip”? You find multiple sellers of replacements similar to Tractive’s clip, plus you find some alternate methods. These sellers know Tractive inferior clips need replacing or upgrading. They’re making money doing it If those sellers know,Tractive should know. They are either stupid or they have chosen to ignore the problem. I give it 3 stars because it works flawlessly, but it is entirely useless if it can’t stay attached to the dog. That is a huge engineering problem. I am not happy that I can’t count on the device staying on my dog in the event he gets free. BTW, it failed less than a week after it arrived. Shameful.

Better for a farm vs suburbs
Jumps a lot. Anytime I need the live feature it’s “waiting for network” and then “waiting for gps”. I usually find her before it gets connected. I guess it’s okay if you just want general location. I wanted it to catch her sneaking into the neighbors yard but the way the power saving works with your home wifi it’s not really possible
