Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Crème Permanent Nourishing Hair Dye, 10.1 Ice Blonde

I’m really impressed with Garnier Nutrisse 10.1 Ice Blonde. The colour turned out beautifully cool-toned, helping to reduce unwanted yellow and brassy tones while leaving my hair looking bright and natural. The application was straightforward, and the included conditioner left my hair feeling soft, smooth, and nourished after colouring. One of the things I liked most was that the colour looked even from root to tip and gave excellent grey coverage. The shade lasts well, and my hair still feels healthy and shiny weeks later. For anyone looking for a fresh, icy blonde result at home, this is a fantastic option and great value for money. Highly recommended!

I have just used this (ultra color, not the creme in the image) on my below shoulder length light brown hair. I had no previous colour except for usage of Loreal hair lightener (dilute Hydro peroxide which to be fair didnt even leave any noticeable roots.) Two strand tests showed that it would barely make a difference, even I had to look close to see any change so I figured I bought it so I may as well use it. I have to say I was disappointed. There wasnt really enough for my hair, nearly half went to doing roots and this took so long that I was worried about waiting the full 25 mins as my roots had already had it on at least 5 mins whilst I was doing the rest, so I waited 20 minutes and washed it off. The smell was of chemical covered by an overpowering false fruity smell. Fruit or chemical, any strong smell is too much! I could already tell I was going to have hot roots. Yep, two tests regardless.. it now decided it was going to lighten my hair. They were a lovely ginger colour so I resisted the urge to wash it and waited the 20 mins. The ginger slowly faded just before I washed it off and I knew the lengths would not be as light. I just didnt dare leave it on long for fear of damaging my scalp (i already have anxiety over potential reactions) or risk frying my roots. I did not experience any tingles or itching whilst it was on. The lengths of my hair only slightly lightened. As it is I now have light roots and my hair fades as it goes down. Reverse ombre! Oh well. Could be worse I guess.

I never normally review products but this hair dye was so dreadful, I felt obliged to review. I have used Nutrisse Baby Blonde before which has been okay but just slightly brassy. I have lightish blonde hair and thought 'Ice Blonde' would perhaps give me a slightly whiter blonde. Oh how wrong I was, the resulting colour is a muddyish dirty blonde with a purple tone and left a purple colour on my skin that was difficult to remove. The dye itself was also too thick to squeeze easily from the applicator bottle. If I could get a refund for this product I would. Now I've got to wait for at least 3 weeks until I dye my hair again using a product that I can trust, NOT Nutrisse! Not happy at all Nutrisse. If you are looking for a dye to give you a multi tonal li ght blonde AVOID this product!!!
