Quality control issues. Get G37 Plus model instead
Avoid this model. Must have had quality control issues with this particular model. Got first one that was not able to jump start a 3.5L engine. Just not enough juice on a full charge. Got a replacement model which would not hold a charge, so not usable. Returned both ands for G37 Plus model which was thinner and easier to carry and store. Only downside was no LCD display and rubberized grip. That new unit was able to charge same 3.5L engine on first attempt. Wasted so much time receiving and returning items.

This thing absolutely works.
The belt on my alternator recently went bad causing the battery to gradually lose its charge. I used this thing to start my car, with the battery virtually completely dead, at least four times (in the same night). Of course it didn't stay running for long, as it was almost completely dead and receiving no charge from the alternator, but this charger started it without any difficulty each time and still had plenty of charge left to go.I feel it was worth the money as such and feel much better about giving two more of them as gifts to family. It works. It does what it's supposed to do. End of story. (I have the yellow one but I got the red one for a family member as a gift.)My only complaint is that the material of the webbing in the carrying case scuffs up the display on the unit. As stated earlier, I got three of these jump starters, and all three had display scuffing when I received them. I really dislike cosmetic defects on a new product. When I buy something new I want it to look new. I thought they were shipping them like that, but after noticing it got worse after I got it, I realized it was the webbing in the carrying case causing it. (See included images.) The webbing is rubbing against the display as it slightly bounces around in the back of my vehicle marring the surface. So apparently it got scuffed up a little in transit to me, and then even more during transit in my vehicle after receiving it.It puzzles me why anyone would design a case that does mild damage to the product it holds. (I once had a camera case that did the same thing to my camera display. A much more expensive, and therefore aggravating, problem.) It's not an issue, yet, but I could see it becoming an issue over time as progressive scuffing makes the display possibly more difficult to read in the daylight. (Because the scratches will obscure the text and reflect light in odd directions. You know, like a scratched up watch face or phone screen or something.) I've begun putting the unit in a large zip-lock prior to putting it in the carrying case in order to mitigate this. Just thought I'd make people aware of this. You may want to wrap it in a cloth or something before putting it away.I'm also a little concerned that the cable clamps are mostly made of what looks like a rather brittle plastic. I got one of another brand which, though I like the actual device's design and construction less, the cables are much higher quality with clamps that have a lot more metal underneath the plastic exterior. While it's not currently an issue, I'm a little concerned about their longevity, as the plastic seems like the sort that gets very brittle with age and eventually just cracks and/or breaks apart.NOTE: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. There's some very specific and potentially important information regarding use within. I see pictures of people claiming their units caught on fire or blew up, and perhaps that's true, but I'd not be surprised if they disregarded the instructions or didn't read them at all. For example, after jumping my car my father wanted me to leave the unit hooked up to the battery for a while afterward. But the instructions make it very clear this is not an automobile battery charger, and not to do that due to risk of overheating, etc. People often leave cables hooked up for a while after the vehicle starts when jumping car to car, and I'd not be surprised if some people did the same with this. Read the instructions.

Replacement Unit Worked and Poor Manual
Needing a good jump starter battery unit, I ordered the GooLoo GP180 800A li ion unit, because it had many reviews and most were on the positive side. Unfortunately the first unit I received had several of the problems reported by many others; 1) unit arrived completely dead so it had discharged itself since packing and 2) it would not charge up, neither by the 120v wall plug nor by the 12v battery plug. “Charging” light and LCD reading would come on then all click off within seconds. I even left it plugged in overnight, as per directions, and nothing happened. In retrospect, I’ve noticed quite a number of 4 and even 5 star reviews involved replacing an initial failed unit. Sorry, but I can’t give high marks with so many failures and a very poor users manual!Amazon immediately sent a replacement unit. KUDOS to Amazon! This one appears to be working correctly. It arrived with 76% charge and immediately started charging when plugged into the wall. The USB and 12v/10A outputs and LED light all work. I have not used it on a large vehicle yet, but have used it a few times to jump start a compact tractor with a poor battery in very cold weather. The unit was warm (carried out from the house, not stored outside) and eventually popped the engine right over to start … once I figured out the process … the manual instructions are very poor and wrong in some points. The unit turns itself on (LCD screen) when you connect the battery clamps … but, does NOTHING until the key is turned ON! Manual says: connect battery clamps … press the BOOST button when that message appears and then start vehicle. I left clamps attached 15 minutes, nothing happened, no BOOST message; attempted to start a couple times, just solenoid clicking … When I noticed the unit sort of “came to life” when the key was turned on, a repeated clicking sound, I pressed the BOOST button, then turned the key and VROOM, started right up. But, never any “press boost button” message appeared.Too bad GooLoo removed the 12v cigarette lighter outlet from the current kit. Battery clamps are firm but wires are only a foot or so long and clamps hinge on plastic plugs. Interesting, both metal jaws of each clamp are wired in. Besides some misleading information in the manual, much of it is written in a poor form of Chinglish with lots of mis-spellings. You have to interpret directions as best you can.

Nice jump starter.
I have a 2013 VW beetle, recently my battery dies as winter comes, got called farmers for jumper start twice last month, it's really annoying especially wait for them especially last Sat night, it takes them 3 hours to come. This jump stater come with a nick case, as you can see, you can put cables on one side, the battery on the other side. The case is quite sturdy. Most important, can jump start can start my bug, I used this jump starter to start my car 3 times already. As I see, every jump start will use 1% capacity.

TWO EXPERIENCES WITH GOOLOO GP-180C - FIRST GREAT!; SECOND DEAD ON ARRIVAL
We received a Gooloo GP-180C (Red) a year ago as a gift. It has worked great, maintains a full charge for a long time, and we were soooooo glad to have it in our vehicle when our battery died. We used it to jump our battery and it did the job immediately. We also have used it as a charging source to re-charge our cell phone. Recently, we purchased one as a gift for a family member. It arrived totally discharged. When we plugged it in to charge it up, it only got up to about 25% and then immediately discharged back down to about 5%. We tried again without any luck so returned it. Our son-in-law has two smaller versions (less charging power) and they both work well for him. Therefore, our second experience with the GP-180C was probably just a fluke, so we still give it 5-stars.
