These are the best scoby’s ever. They are large and thick. My kombucha always comes out perfect every time with these. My only issue is that you only get 1/4 cup of starter tea with each scoby. Which is not enough for me to make a gallon of kombucha. It plainly states that 1/4 cup of starter tea will only make 1/4 gallon of kombucha. Even knowing that I still consider these to be the best scoby’s of choice. Just wish there was more starter tea.

Excellent Scoby, very thick. Split easily into 2 jars. Great price for what you get. It was very viable and started to culture a second layer quickly. Within a few days the bubbles formed and it was taking off nicely. Highly recommend.

It came in good condition and had no mold. I made about 10 batches of 2 gallons of Kombutcha with it.

I've been using it weekly since and consistently get fresh kombucha. Highly recommend it, especially if you're a beginner in that process.

I would like to inform you that your scoby appears to be top quality and free of macroscopic contaminants. But unfortunately, it doesn't work for us, as it comes folded in two parts, and the scoby precipitates and dies. What happens is that the scoby is a biological entity formed symbiotically by unicellular bacteria and yeasts, but they are anaerobic, so they require the surface for the exchange of oxygen and other gases. It is unfortunate that such a good product is of no use to the community. Transporting it in a container with a larger diameter would be our humble advice.
