Best shampooer I have ever had. Amazing cleaning power. Touch controls on handle are great. Well built. Tanks are easy to remove, clean and replace. Nozzle and brushes super easy to clean. Spot cleaning and dry only are nice features. Highly recommended. Very pleased with this product.

Hoover SmartWash Pet XL carpet cleaner. Well packaged and simple to assemble. Tested it to ensure it worked, turns on/off, no leaks, etc., on carpet cleaned recently. I washed once, rinsed with clean water once and dried twice. I like the simplicity of this and not having to hold a trigger to dispense soap is nice. It removed a lot of dog hair despite vacuuming before getting started. Water was quite dirty even tho I had shampooed carpet a month ago, so an "A" for cleaning. Carpet didn't seem a whole lot dryer, if at all, than when using the old Bissel. The Bissel wasn't bad so I'll give this Hoover a "B". While I didn't use the upholstery attachment I did cycle it thru the self cleaner. It rinses and vacuums three times and a last fourth vacuum cycle before shutting off. Did not work effectively so I removed the plastic cover over the brushes. (so nice this is easily removed for cleaning) It was full of dog hair. Removed this gunk and ran self cleaner again. Worked very well. Water was dirty so it gives you a sense of satisfaction knowing the crud on the brushes is rinsed clean and not left to dry before you use it again. This feature gets an "A+". This cleaner isn't overly noisy in my opinion and is easily maneuvered. The electrical cord is only 21 ft long. Can always use an extension cord I suppose but my Hoover Vacuum has nearly a 30 ft cord and it would have been nice to get this length on the cleaner. Both the solution and dirty water reservoirs are adequately sized and easy to remove. Overall "A" for this Hoover SmartWash Cleaner. Very happy with this purchase and hope it is built to last. UPDATE: Shampooed living room carpet-also done a month ago with old Bissel. Carpet never looked really-really clean, but it does now. Changing the grade for this Hoover from "A" to "A Plus". This beast is the best I've ever used.

I love this carpet shampooer and especially love that it cleans itself with the included tray that it sits in. Very easy to use and empty. Great value for the money. This is my 2nd Hoover shampooer. Had my last one for over a decade and only got rid of it due to not having carpet in house anymore, until we moved recently.

This product is amazing! I bought it after spending a lot of time reading reviews for this vs a Bissel. I am so glad I got this. Even after a “deep” clean to get out stubborn stains, the carpet was barely damp when done. The trick is to use the “dry only” mode after washing until water no longer visibly sucks up. I also highly recommend the “self clean” tray. It does an amazing job of cleaning the brushes. I had no idea how dirty my rugs were until I used this. My friends are now asking to borrow this for their own carpets.

This is a better shampooer out of the several I’ve tried over the years. I like that it’s easy to clean and it handles well. It has a stronger sucking power than other units I’ve tried. I wish the front was heavier to force more water out of the carpet but otherwise great product.

This is the upgraded carpet cleaner of the smartwash and I will say it is absolutely worth it. I have exposed aggregate floors and this cleans them so well. It is so easy to use and I love the huge tank that holds the water and dirty water. Totally worth it

This carpet cleaner is *awesome*. We have a dog, two cats, and two teen boys that bring over other teen boys to hang out. I wanted to be able to clean the carpet in certain rooms when I want to without having to pay someone to do the whole house. I have the Green Bissell for small stains/pet accidents. But this is exceptional for cleaning entire rooms and getting out large stains quickly. I was really worried it was going to be very cumbersome and complicated to clean. It is shockingly easy to both use and self-clean. You simply fill the clean tank with water and a small amount of solution (the tank is marked, no need to measure), and hit the power button. Then you just use it like a vacuum. When you push it forward it is in wash mode, and when you pull back it is in dry mode. If there is a stain you want to focus on, just tap the mode button and it switches to Spot Wash. When you are done with the area you can go over it again on dry mode to remove any extra water. The tanks are so easy to remove, and you can remove any hair or fur from the nozzles with the brush comb. Finally, you can use the “self clean” mode on the provided storage tray to deep clean the unit and remove any remaining debris from this inside tubes, etc. Also, it is basically the weight of a full size vacuum. 100% recommend.

We have had an older model Hoover Carpet shampooer for many years. It has been a great tool, but after 20 years we finally had to replace it. The new Hoover model is a fantastic upgrade. Hoover has redesigned this in many ways. One great advantage is the electronics. It has a built in self-cleaning mode that works to purge the machine and capture pet hair. We love it. It is still the hard working Hoover we love but now with some important sophisticated upgrades. This is a great value for the money.
