Review: Came back to give more stars & add to my review. - Edit 3/6/25: Considering I am in a 7-week botanical course currently with a famous herbalist & acupuncturist citing how Mastic was mentioned by historical figures, like Dioscaredes (books available here on desertcart & elsewhere), I decided to up this from 3 to 5 stars while I reading monographs on Mastic. I have been using tiny broken off pieces of the "teardrop" resin every day. Even citing some jaw issues below, I am enjoying this. I can not speak for long-term benefits yet. I recommend you do your own research on resin medicine, like Mastic. Considering this is chewed, it is considered generally safe for MOST people & can help support oral/GI issues & general health for MOST people. Not everyone will like this & some may have issues or bad reactions to this or any other product they try. Original review: 3 stars for now. I might come back over time to edit if I see benefits or not. I recently saw some YouTube folks & articles discussing this for various issues & how it might help them. I decided to try it. I missed that it was a 25-gram package for less than $15. So the size surprised me right away. I do have some jaw issues, so I wasn't sure how great this would be for me, since I'm really not supposed to chew gum in the first place. I do enjoy a lot of pine-spruce-evergreen herbal teas & such, so I was intrigued if this would be a good flavor or maybe soapy or just a flat-out no. After reading the book "Breath" by James Nestor, I was looking for some mastic gum or gum that gives the jaw a workout without any kind of real or artificial sugar. I purchased the Turkish gum Falim, unsweetened, and this Cerez Pazari Natural Greek Mastic Gum. I was intrigued by the all-natural mastic ingredient and what Hippocrates said about it as being medicinal. I found it difficult to chew so that's good. It's clean and attractive but has a lot of crumbled pieces -- not uniform pieces. The thing I couldn't tolerate nor did I expect was a residue that has coated the back of my throat and feels like up into my sinuses. It has a mild pine taste. Coupled with the residue it makes me think of pine tar that drips from trees and sticks to everything. I rated it 3 stars for value because it's a specialty product that you can't buy anywhere. I think it's high quality so if you are definitely sure you want this product, this is a good brand. I had to spit mine out after one minute. I'm not even going to try to like it. On the other hand the Falim gum, mint, sugarless is the way to go if you want jaw exercise without sugar. It has zero sugar, gives you a workout, and has no taste other than a slight mint flavor.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly as described!

So far so good! I haven’t had a problem with this, it’s exactly what’s described and if you read instructions/do a little research I don’t think you’ll have any problems chewing it. It did come sort of stuck together but anyone who’s ordered something similar on amazon should know that happens sometimes in transportation/etc. and if you’re willing enough it can still be used, plus the description even states what to do if that were to happen which is nice. I personally had no problem getting a piece/pieces broken off and mended together enough to chew. I’ve read that some recommend rinsing a piece off with clean water first but I personally just keep it in my mouth/sometimes roll it around with my tongue until it absorbs enough fluid to lightly chew it until it’s able to adhere to itself and not your teeth. Yes it tastes like pine but if you’ve done research you’ll know that’s fairly normal and expected since it’s literally tree sap. I personally got it for my stomach ulcers because I had read about it possibly helping with that (haven’t tried it long enough to have my verdict) but I was intrigued to know people were using it to strengthen their jaws. I personally don’t see like any difference between the consistency of this vs. bubble gum that you’ve chewed for a while. Maybe I just have a weird batch or maybe I have jaws of steal 🤷🏼‍♀️, who knows?! I typically chew bubble gum while I workout so I’m curious to see if I notice any difference chewing this instead. (Side note, I read a review saying you can’t blow a bubble but I definitely challenged that and was able to blow at least one small bubble. Lol)
