My first kindle and I am loving it!!!
Trust me! The screen looks more beautiful and gentler than what you might see on the images I have uploaded. I'd like to highlight some the important features of my kindle paperwhite in terms of it's usage. 0. Very light weight and has matt back which feels very soft on touch. 1. Best for reading epubs and azw3. You can sideload epubs and pdf via amazon's 'Send to Kindle' desktop app. 2. Mangas look very nice in it. If you download it via amazon, there won't be any issues. But there isn't an option to set the contrast which might feel a bit underwhelming (review based on fire force vol 1 sample downloaded from kindle store) But if you are going to sideload it (i mean download the manga form elsewhere, you know where!) , you'll need to first convert it to epub format with kindle comic converter desktop app. Keep experimenting. 3. The browser is very very basic. You can only use it for reading text heavy websites. 4. If u study a lot using pdfs and epubs, then this has an edge over tablets when it comes to battery life and reducing eye strain (there's none!). 5. This is extremely travel friendly gadget! Although i suggest you to get a flip cover for screen protection against rough usage. 6. PDFs won't be as good as viewing on a tablet but still it's manageable. This kindle is faster so zoom in/out and scrolling is smoother than the previous one. 7. You need to keep Airplane mode turned on most of the time if you want to prolong the battery backup, and only turn if off when you require to upload and sync books. 8. You can buy a magnetic case cover which can wake up or sleep the screen when you open or close the cover simultaneously. This prevents the risk of the power button going faulty with repeated usage over the time. Although it makes the kindle slightly heavier to hold. 9. Keep an eye out for Kindle colorsoft and Kindle scribe if your budget is more! But paperwhite for now is seal deal for me!

Kindle is the best!
Oh my gosh, I finally got my hands on the All-new Kindle Paperwhite (16 GB), and as a total Kindle newbie, I’m completely obsessed. I was a little skeptical about moving away from physical books, but this thing is incredible. The screen is the first thing you notice—it's this big, beautiful 7-inch display that truly looks like real paper, not a glowing screen. The text is so crisp, and I absolutely love the glare-free display when I’m reading outside on the balcony or just in bright light. Plus, it's so much faster than I expected; pages turn instantly, which really keeps me focused on the story. Honestly, the small details are what make this a keeper. Since I read late every night, the Adjustable Warm Light has been a life-saver, shifting the color to a cozy amber that doesn't hurt my eyes. And since it’s waterproof (IPX8). With 16 GB of space, I’ve already downloaded dozens of books and haven't made a dent in the storage. If you’ve never owned a Kindle before, trust me—this is the one to start with. It’s perfect.

13 Years, 5 Kindles, and a Reading Ritual That Stuck
My Kindle saga started way back in 2012 with the 5th Gen—imported from the US because Kindle hadn’t reached Indian shores yet. That little slab of e-ink magic got four solid years of loyal service before I passed it on to someone who’d never tried an e-reader. In 2015, I picked up the Kindle 7th Gen Touch, and wow, did that one put in the work. It survived until 2023, almost eight years! What finally brought it down? The micro-USB charging port broke. That’s it. No drama. Just a quiet exit after a long, noble run. Honestly, most phones don’t even make it to the second Android update. In 2018, I got the Paperwhite 4—not because the old one failed, but because I needed that front light. Nighttime reading without waking anyone up? Game changer. That one lived right next to my pillow. Then in 2021, I moved to the Paperwhite 5 (USB-C, bigger screen, better light), and now in 2025, I’ve pre-ordered the Paperwhite 6. It’s like clockwork—every few years, I upgrade not out of necessity, but out of curiosity and gratitude. And each old Kindle gets handed down. No landfill. Just legacy. The Kindle isn’t flashy. It doesn’t send notifications or beg for attention. It just quietly builds a reading habit that sticks. After all these years, it’s still the only device that makes me feel like I’m spending time instead of wasting it. Final Thoughts: Speaking from over a decade of experience, it’s time to break the misconception: a Kindle isn’t just a ‘lesser tablet.’ It’s not about flashy features or multitasking capabilities. It’s about what it doesn’t have—no notifications, no social media, no distractions. When you pick up a Kindle and leave your phone behind, you enter a zone of pure, uninterrupted reading. It’s a device that respects your focus and fosters a genuine connection with the written word. So, if you’re looking to build a reading habit or deepen your existing one, a Kindle isn’t just a gadget—it’s a gateway to a more mindful reading experience.

Good e-reader for avid readers
The product is only worthwhile for avid readers. However, I feel it’s overpriced and could have been priced better.

Surpassed my expectations
This new Kindle is really good and fast. It's my second Kindle. After seeing so many positive reviews, I was curious to check it by myself and yes, it surpassed my expectations. It's pretty fast, worth the money, with a big screen; the dark mode is a plus, making reading even more comfortable than my previous Kindle. The delivery time was also impressive: I ordered around noon and it came on the same day (late) through the Prime membership. Really thankful for this good quality product provided by Amazon!

A treat to the eyes
I bought my first Kindle in May 2014. It was the 6th generation. Used it for almost 12 years till I decided to buy the latest one. Better, Slightly bigger and on the whole not disappointed. For a senior citizen and a varocious reader like me I also need to have bigger fonts to read which is possible only on a kindle and not on a book ! Worth the buy ! Dr Javed Rasheed
