Others have said it, but it's worth my time in case it helps others... Buy this bug spray. I'm the type of person who will get bit 10 times while wearing bug spray when nobody else got bit or even thought to use it, and I'm super allergic, so I wear bug spray outside 100% of the time in summer, even if I'm just stepping out to take out the trash. I literally moved to another state because summers were so bad. Despite all this, I used to spend much of summer miserably treating bug bites and losing sleep from the reactions. But since I started using this bug spray last year, I've not gotten a single bite on skin that was treated with it. I've only gotten bit on areas like my face/hands where I didn't apply much or washed it off, through clothes, or while using other bug sprays, including other picaridin sprays. I initially wondered if the bugs weren't as bad in recent years, but last time I ran out, I bought some Off spray cans because they were smaller and more convenient to travel with. I got two bites the first day I used it. Switched back and haven't gotten bit since. I'm not sure if the actual formula is any different than other brands, but I think larger spray makes it easier to evenly coat your skin, and it also doesn't come out overly misty, so you don't feel like you're breathing in chemicals. Like all picaridin, the smell is mild and there's no sticky or oily feeling.

I started off using the Ranger Ready brand products but quit because the spray bottle is terrible. The squeeze lever is short and always covered in slippery spray. Even at their high price I would still be using their products if the spray bottle didn't suck or they sold their product by the gallon so I could put it in my own spray bottle. Then, I started using this Sawyer brand. The spray pattern is a finer more even mist and sprays even with the can tilted sideways. It works just as well at repelling mosquitoes and it costs a fraction of the Ranger Ready brand. This stuff supposedly doesn't interact with the nervous system when it enters the bloodstream like DEET does (according to 40+ yrs of European studies). Lets hope that's true because this stuff WORKS! I spray it on my shoes and pant leg below the knee which seems to keep ticks and ants from crawling up. I've seen ants walk across my shoe and immediately try to get off. It hurts them to touch it. Mosquitoes and other flying insects will sometimes fly up to me quickly and as soon as they touch my skin they jump off like my skin was electric!

Super duper greasy and it leaves you smelling like chemicals. Cans were rusted under the factory sealed plastic and cap. Product works as the bugs DO stay away, but I wouldn't use it if I was wearing something I really like or going to a nice event. This is specifically for sweaty gross stinky outdoor activities.

I really like this vs deet based repellent. However, youll go through both cans quickly, as each can provides about 3 full body light misting over clothes, gear before your hike. As an avid hiker, it goes fast and gets costly. Was hoping the 2 pack would go on sale during the recent deal days, but nope. So I just bought 1 can though for now at reg price. Winter has less bugs so i should be good until spring as temps rise. So stock up when on sale.

All family members have used this, and not a single bite, once applied! Don’t miss a spot, or those 'no-see-ums' or skeeters will find it! No greasy feeling, we use both the spray & lotion. Works well at the beach, back yard, or in the woods. Sweating/wiping will wear it off a bit sooner, so may need to re-apply, but it easily lasted at least 6-8 hrs.
