Great Value, Crystal Clear
Bought this for my Savage Mark II FV-SR .22 rifle. It is the perfect scope for target shooting up to about 200 yards. At 100 yards you can see .22 caliber holes in paper so you don't need a spotting scope to go along with it. The optics are really surprisingly clear and brightness is definitely better than adequate at 14x zoom. Clicks are solid and it holds zero. Crosshairs are nice and clean and the middle of the crosshairs gets nice and thin making precision easy. I'd say at 100 yards and full zoom the cross itself covers less than a quarter inch circle. My rifle is a 1MOA gun and I feel this scope was up to the task to take advantage of my rifle's ability. Only note is this isn't a tactical setup. For that you want the APT with exposed turrets and mildot crosshairs. I have subsequently ordered the APT and might return this only because I could use the more tactical setup for my purposes. This scope (the APV) totally lives up to the hype it gets as a giant killer in that it offers stellar performance in the low $100 price range. Anyone giving it 3 stars and saying 'okay for the money' clearly just needed more scope than this for their application, in which case they had no business buying this. Know what you need for your application and if this fits the bill you will be pleased.

Amazing Scope for the $
After reading a lot of forums I found this scope was really highly recommended for 10/22's. The reviews looked great so I went ahead and made the order. I sighted this in last week and was VERY impressed. Once I was on target, I was hitting everything I aimed at with no problems. Easy elevation/windage adjustments, very bright view of your target, and just a great scope. I have nothing bad to say about this scope and highly recommend it!

reticle moved 30 degrees
I used this scope on a 22 for target shooting. I have actually used it 5-10 times and it was great. Put the rifle up after the most recent range trip, picked it up a month later to go shooting, and the reticle is 30 degrees off. No idea how that could happen. I really did like it prior to that.

good scope for the money
Scope has good clarity and decent eye relief if you're placing on a smaller caliber like a .17 or .22. It does start losing light gathering ability at the very high end of magnification but I haven't put it in an actual hunting situation to see just how bad it may be a dusk/dawn. Movement of reticles is good and once set they have not moved after 100+ shots of my .17 HMR. The AO works like it should and is pretty close based on use at 85 yds. and 150 yds. If I ever need to replace a low caliber scope, it would be a Mueller.

Marlin XT-22
I mounted this on my Marlin XT-22 bolt action rifle. I thought I'd write this review since I can find almost no information regarding scopes and mounts for this rifle. Unlike semi-automatic rifles, bolt clearance becomes an issue when mounting optics on a bolt action rifle. I bought a set of Weaver #12 scope mount bases and weaver quad lock 1" scope rings. I bought a set of high and extra high scope rings because I wanted to make sure the bolt clears the rear lens while cycling AND removing the bolt for cleaning. In one review on youtube someone mounted a Nikon Prostaff on the XT-22 with medium height rings and the bolt was clear for cycling the action but didn't have enough room to remove the bolt so he had to take a dremel to his bolt and grind it down. With the high height scope rings the Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 fits perfectly on the XT-22. There's about a 2mm gap between the front objective lens and the top of the barrel, just enough space for the front lens cover. The bolt also clears the rear lens by just about 1mm. Honestly it's scope was made for this rifle. The scope also clears the rear iron sights so you don't have to remove them. The AO was one of the big requirements for me. I haven't checked the markings to see if they match the distances exactly but from what I've seen they seem about right. Some people have reported the distances being completely off, I'm guessing they just got a bad copy. So far mine seems to be spot on. Optics are crystal clear up to about 9x magnification and still very good up to 14x. One potential downside I suppose is that the scope is rather heavy. If you're taking this backpacking you could probably save 5 or 6 ounces going with a 3-9x40, however for my purposes this isn't an issue.

The only scope I'll ever buy
This is a lot of scope for the money. I put it on a .22, which is a bit of overkill, but for the price, why not. It will do anything I need and can be transfered to my 30-06 when deer season opens. Solid, well built, holds zero, very bright and clear. I'm very satisfied.

Great Scope
This is a great scope for the money. Obviously not in the same category as higher priced glass, but definitely worth the money. Variable objective and rock solid construction. Crystal clear lenses with easy adjustments. I did find that I needed a screw driver for elevation changes though.

Re-review pending
I wasn't sure how to rate this product. It has excellent qualities and has a major flaw that I will get to..... I bought this scope with new rings, a new base for my rifle, and a Wheeler scope mounting kit. I followed all necessary instructions, torqued bases and rings, lapped rings, centered scope and torqued the caps as per the Wheeler instructions. Looking through the scope, I was pleased. The glass is clear all around and the adjustments work well. I took this to the range and began sighting in, or at least attempting to sight in. I was not able to hit what I was aiming at. I never quite got it on paper. I actually ended up using the berm behind my target to try and locate where the rounds were going. Once I had it where I was hitting spots on the ground, I went back to paper. I had no luck on the paper again. I'm hoping that the recoil of a .308 isn't too severe for this scope because it really is very nice. I guess I'll have to spend another day at the range and try it all over again. I will update this review after my next outing.

Most Excellent Scope for the $$$$.
Bought this for my 10/22 build. It is one awesome scope. Great glass, solidly built and I find the turret adjustments to be perfect. You feel and hear the clicks. This is my second Mueller, also have the 8x32 on a K31. Planning on purchasing another one of these for my Savage BSEV. I will have three Muellers, why don't you have at least one??

Fantastic scope for the money
Fantastic scope for the money. Clear and accurate. Put it on a .22 LR and it has outperformed my friends' more expensive scopes.

Good scope
For the money, good scope. Only dowside eye relief at higher power is tough to maintain

So sweet!!
Great Scope. Everything about this scope is to notch. The adjustable objective is a great feature and it works perfectly. The image quality is excellent, the glass is excellent, the magnification is excellent. I haven't tracked this scope yet but sighting it in was easy and the adjustments are very large and positive so there's no digging out a dime to turn a crappy slotted screw head. My only criticism is the eye relief is very specific which makes fast target acquisition kind of tricky. I cant say much about durability and recoil because I have only had the scope for a couple of months and I have it on a .22 but my rifle makes nice small 5 round holes in paper at 100 yrds!!!! Exactly what I bought this scope for!!!
