great if one doesn't mind some functions not working
the set looks great. The remote starts out exasperating and after several days makes some sense. The button size is perfect for a small person. Most functions work, but software is in desperate of an update. Once and only did I actually get audio from the optical cable to the DAC to my headphones. Once. That obviously was very accidental as there's now way that the software has a clue as to this function. The other apparent difficulty for the software, is remembering that I have a Roku stick plugged into a HDMI port, powered by a USB port. Some days it remembers some days it demands that I reinstall the device because it's new. Not. C'mon, seriously, have baked is no way to ship a product. Too bad that's de rigueur these days from far too many companies. Yes, I asked for help- no, the person couldn't help. Like I said, great picture, the rest, to date, meh.

OK too expensive for the quality
At the price point of $647.99 I expected better. In the settings there are items that are grayed out making it impossible to make a change to those items. The Home screen is a hot mess. The apps are in three different places. I find the Home Screen to be cluttered and not well thought out. The TV sound from the TV speakers is not great. I now have the sound coming through a Marantz A/V receiver and Klipsch speakers.... Big difference. I am not a Samsung newbie. I've owned Samsung TVs in the past and loved the. My phones and tablets for at least 15 years have been Samsung. This is the my first Samsung purchase that leaves me scratching my head.

TV REMOTE IS HORRIBLE
I have had two other Samsung TVs in my home for years. The picture on this TV is great, and the sound is good. However, I’m only giving it three stars because of the not-so-user-friendly remote. If I could rate the remote separately, I would give it -100 stars. Whoever designed it was definitely having a hold my crack pipe and beer moment. SERIOUSLY. And the voice feature? Horrible. “Alexa” is practically worthless. My Roku voice command is MUCH BETTER; does exactly what I tell it to. And don’t even get me started on the volume controls (I’ve seen other complaints about it as well). In fact, I use my Roku remote to control the volume. Seriously! You almost need a PhD in Computer Science to operate it. THE REMOTE NEEDS A MAJOR DESIGN OVERHAUL. PERIOD. I can’t wait to get my FIOS cable hooked up to this TV soon.

Great picture; Terrible human interface software; OK but not great remote;
I'm only on day 1 so this review might change. I'm only partially set up so I can stream, but not fully (DVD, sound bar, antenna, Roku box).POSITIVE: picture is VERY good; As a bonus, I can play YouTube videos via the YouTube tv app.; Also sound is decent via internal speakers, but I intend to us my (ZVox dialog cleanup) sound bar when TV installed fully.NEGATIVE: The home screen interface is like visiting a whorehouse (just guessing) - a terrible amount of clutter and junk recommendations you can't get rid of. If you don't believe me search the web for complaints about the tizen home screen interface - there are lots. I have 45 years of sw engineering experience so I'm tech literate.I also don't particularly like the remote - weird buttons which are like a combo button/joystick-like. Has a learning curve.Some of my Roku TV apps are available (BritBox, PBS, Prime Video) as native tizen apps, BUT NOT ALL - e.g. the kanopy (video via local library) app not available.So...I knew about interface woes. But since I like the Roku interface 100 times better, I've ordered a Roku box to make Roku my interface - many articles recommend doing this or Fire TV etc. Roku hasn't arrived yet but since I am replacing a Roku TV I have high hopes.Good to know...I grabbed a 7 year old Samsung remote and tried it - it seems to work fine, so the same Samsung IR command set is being used. Much better button layout on older remote. Even better news, I have a universal remote that can be programmed. So it will surely support this TV IR command set (and my DVD player, soundbar, etc).So bottom line - I like this TV but will use the Roku interface to make it better and also use a better remote. I knew these issues going in to purchase.
