We have ordered playfoam in the past, so when EI came out with playfoam pals, I had to see what the difference was. My daughter loves this “update” to the product. Her favorite thing to do is to open mystery boxes and see what kind of toy she gets in each box. She also love Playdoh, even though her mom doesn’t as much. So, that is why I always like to get Playfoam if I can. Playfoam never makes a mess and it shapes itself into whatever she wants to make it into. We have ordered Playfoam, when it was a multi color pack. I had to find a place to store it. This is why I love Playfoam Pals. It comes in a plastic container that you can put the pals and playfoam right back in so the colors don’t separate. Clean up is a breeze and I don’t need to pull out my vacuum to pick up any pieces on the ground!Both of my kids have been playing with it for about a week now every day, they are doing something different with it every time. When they first opened it, they made little homes for the pets with the playfoam. Today, I came home, and they had “made” the pet out of playfoam. For example, we got the crocodile, and my son had made a larger crocodile out of the Playfoam. The pets are used to play with the Playfoam. So, my daughter made a bed for her pet and then played with the other pets with it.I ordered the pack, so it came with 6 different pets! Thank you EI for packaging it with different pets. Some toys will have the same toy and the kids get disappointed. For Playfoam pets, they got 6 different pets. They even got 2 golden pets! They were super excited about that. Now, all I hear is for me to order another pack so they can collect all of the animals.Play doh days will definitely be gone in our household. Playfoam is the way to go. And I love that they come with these cute pets to use with the playfoam. It makes the play more interactive and creative. I know that the playfoam will last for a long time since it is not drying up like the Play doh. I am not going back

We actually purchased these several years ago but at that time they did not include the figurines. At the time my son enjoyed them mildly but the foam soon ended up in the trash. Fast forward to this new batch and wow, I can't believe how much more interested he is in this toy now that they include these cute little plastic toys, hidden in the center of each foam color.The figures are cute because the heads pop off and you can mix and match them to create "super hero" or "magical" creatures. In our 6-pack we received 3 gold figures and 3 regular multi-colored figures.The foam never dries out and that makes it a big step-up from playdoh and clay options. We just store ours in a large zip-lock bag for convenience. Also, the texture is soft and fluffy and nice and easy for young children to work with, contrasted with clay which young hands can really struggle to shape.The only difficulty encountered with these is that it was quite difficult to open the tubes. I actually had to go search an unboxing Youtube video to figure it out. They twist apart at the point beneath the tape wrapped around the bottom center of the tube.My son has spent hours and hours playing with these and I plan to order another 6-pack to give him a chance to collect more figurines.#educationalinsights#playfoam

We received this for free as part of research. I got it a couple of weeks ago and held onto it because I wasn't sure how messy it would be and we're in the middle of moving. I finally opened it today to keep my 3 and 5 yo's occupied. It was tricky to open but once we got it open they really enjoyed it. The foam is sticky but doesn't leave any kind of residue on your hands or surfaces. It squeezed together to form shapes easily and held them, but then reformed easily, too. The animal toys were a nice addition to the toy, but my kids couldn't quite figure out how they should interact.My main pet peeve is that the little balls come apart from the mass easily and so after about 15 minutes of play, I kept finding the small pieces of foam on my daughter's clothes and in her hair, on the floor in larger masses and in individual pieces, which is annoying since we have a 13 month old. Overall, we enjoyed the toy. My daughter cried when we put it away and is demanding to play with it again immediately.

it's a cute gift but it does stick to everything. it comes off easily but you will have to vacuum very often. the animals heads pop off so you can mix them with a different body.

This stuff is pretty great. I bought it for my two girls, ages 4 and 7. As soon as she saw the 3 sets, my 7 year old immediately began reading the box and got excited about all of the different Pals she might get. They started playing with them and were sooooo happy to have received two of the "rare" gold Pals. They were also happy with the other Pals that they received, and loved how you can mix and match the heads and bodies. The first time out of the box they played with the foam and Pals for over an hour. It was the first time they actually got along in ages, which makes the price worth it just for that one hour of peace. The next few nights, though, it was the same - the first thing they wanted to do was get home and play with the Playfoam. They play games where you guess who is hidden in the foam, build things, and just have fun being creative. It still is their go-to after school. This company knows how to stay current with the "surprise" toys and the added element of rarity with the Gold pals, but also provides a really great educational toy. I will be getting more of these sets for birthday gifts! The small beads can break off from the foam, so there is a very small amount of cleanup, but it's very minor.

A great sensory product, but young children need direct supervision.

We love this sticky, non drying-out play foam! The price is fairly decent, particularly as you get two, and the little toy inside is a really great idea; children can collect them.I think it would be nice to be able to have the option of choosing a colour as well as the random surprise element, because we have two yellows, but the product is excellent, not at all messy and the dome packaging to keep it in is great. Would definitely buy more.
