Kodiak Furniture Monterey Futon with Suede Fabric Mattress in Butternut/Blue

When this item is in the upright position it needs to be against the wall to hold it up. The locks that it is supposed to lock in are not deep enough.When it is folded out to a bed one person can not sleep on one side by themselves because it tips due to the frame being so light.

The quality and company are top notch! There was an issue with the mattress not delivering with the frame due to a FedEx issue, but a new mattress was shipped overnight and is perfect! This is a heavy , awkward product when boxed, so needed help getting it to the room for assembly. Be prepared for that.I would buy this, or anything else I needed from Kodiak furniture without hesitation if I need anything again.

We needed a longer size to get our tall, oldest son the futon he wanted. This one had the correct dimensions, which ensured he would be comfortable. It is sturdy, as there are often multiple people on and off it. Most importantly for me was that it was easy to assemble.

I ordered and returned 2 other futons that were really junk. This Kodiak is the real deal. We bought the chestnut color with the Navy suede. It is not navy at all. It is more of a green/blue suede so I should have bought the grey because it was cheaper and it was probably true to grey. But this is a very nice sofa and bed. When it arrived I unpacked it and watched the assembly video. We assembled the bottom seat first and waited until the next day to assemble the back then the frame and then the side arms. We took our time. It's not hard and it's all labeled and color coded so pretty straight forward. We bought it most for a guest bed in the 2nd bedroom not for a long time guest but wanted a full size not a twin. This is legit and the best for the money.

I bought this futon to be used primarily as a sofa in our spare room. I considered dozens of futons, but chose this one based on its neat, clean lines snd good reviews, and I wasn’t disappointed! I’ve seen many futons, and so many of them look sloppy and cheap - but not this one! This futon is a nice piece of well-made furniture. It is a solid (no rickety wobbling or squeaking) and comfortable sofa, and will make a very comfortable bed when we have guests. It looks very nice in our room, and I am pleasantly surprised at its quality. My husband put it together, and he said that the directions were straightforward and he had no problem with the assembly. I wish I had bought this earlier and we could have had a more functional, enjoyable spare room.

The Kodiak Furniture Monterey Futon was easy to assemble. The directions were clear and all the pieces came on a labeled cardboard card, for easy reference. We have had it one week now. It is comfortable. We have the Butternut finish, which matches the "Honey Maple" accessories from the early 2000's.
