Dare Whippet Black Forest Cookies, 285g/10.1oz (Imported from Canada)

The cookies taste very good. The marshmallow is very fresh and the graham is crispy. The chocolate coating had a white film, which was caused by improper storage and shipping by Amazon. My cookies arrived crushed because Amazon stupidly shipped a fragile food item in a plastic sleeve rather than a box. This is the first time I have experienced such a stupid mistake on their part in 15 years of ordering from Amazon. It makes me wary to ever buy food items from them again.

I couldn't in good conscience recommend that anyone buy this product. I like unusual cookies and these reminded me of something from my childhood, so two days ago I plunked down $9 +and bought a box. The cookies I received were dry and old. The marshmallow portion was tough, like trying to eat a rubber ball. Tough taffy on your teth. Marshmallows are supposed to be light and moist, not dense and dry. The dark chocolate on them was good. But there is supposed to be a cherry filling spot inside these. I could not find or taste anything to this effect. The 'best eaten before" date on the box said July, 2025, 7 weeks from now. This may have been very old stock, but if so, why is Amazon selling it at all? Thoroughly disappointing. And a shame because the public would like a cookie like this if it was fresh and good tasting. I really don't like being critical and would like to see people succeed with their products, but this is just plain disappointing. My roommate tried these along with me and had the same opinion.

Loved these but need to order during cooler months. Ordered during the summer, had some melt issues but were still good.

I gave this item 4 stars, although I think it is inherent in the construction with its thin layer of chocolate on the outside that it can't stand being shaken or beaten about too much. My cookies were very sad looking and I wouldnt put them out at a party as the tops were all cracked and ugly. However! They still tasted really good! So no party food, just eat them yourself in front of the TV and who cares how they look. I used to find these at Christmas Tree Shops at 1/3 the price, but they seem to have gone out of business, so at least they are available somewhere now.

The cardboard box arrived open but the plastic-sealed package was still intact. However, the cookies were crumbled, and the plastic bag easily came apart after it was opened, so I had to transfer the crumbled cookies to a Ziplock bag. I would not buy again.

These cookies are so, so good. They are so fresh with a center of taste raspberry and along with the dark chocolate coating that just cuts the sweetness of the marshmallows to a perfect taste of deliciousness. My problem is I can’t eat just one or two but usually three at a sitting. If you like this type of cookie , you just have to try these. They are well worth the price. If you can only eat one box without reordering you would have to have an awfully good will power.

I got these for to make Dalek cookie treats for a Dr Who party (these are supposed to form the head) and only 3 cookies were intact, one the chocolate coating was cracked and EVERY other one had hunks of the chocolate coating missing. In addition, the chocolate was chalky like chocolate gets when it has gone hot & cold multiple times. I had to get and temper chocolate to recoat them in order to use. If I’m overpaying this much for a box of effing cookies you expect not to get a box of rejects. They taste good enough (especially after coating with quality chocolate instead of the waxy/over sweet garbage used in your standard store cookie these days) . tho I’ve only ever had mallomars, I remember the chocolate on them seeming like actual chocolate (could be a rosey memory). Maybe all cookies are made with rubbish compared to 20 years ago. Or maybe I have higher standards now.

I do recommend this, you won’t be able to stop eating them! So delicious and probably not good for the diet! But who cares just yummy!!

This was a new one for me.... The marshmallow does taste like cherry and then there's the jam - I found them to be a little sweet so, I only have 1 at a time instead of 2 lol
