Blindspot: The Complete Third Season (DVD)

Great fun to watch
Back in the day, the old Washington Senators had a pitcher named Camilo Pascual who was famous for his curveball. So famous that even Hall-of-Famer Ted Williams - the last baseball player to bat over .400 for a season - said it was the best he'd ever seen.Watching this season of "Blindspot" was a lot like watching Pascual pitch in the late Fifties and early Sixties: There were more curves in the season-long narrative than I would have thought it possible to work into a season before I watched it. Betrayals, shifting loyalties, the return of some old foes and a few old allies were all worked into the narrative along with the discovery of a long-lost daughter. It was sometimes mind-boggling but always so much fun to watch. This season, in my opinion, really belonged to the writers. This is not to say that the actors and directors were sub-par because they certainly weren't; rather, it is simply an attempt to acknowledge that the writers let their imaginations loose and - as a result - came up with some wonderful stories.(I especially enjoyed the episode in which Patterson solves a crime after being severely injured in an explosion and is put into a medically induced coma. There are shades of "Groundhog Day" throughout that episode making it poignant and funny as well as a pretty darn good piece of investigative work.)A little offbeat, full of twists and turns, this season was great fun to watch.

Still great
When this show first aired, I didn't think it would go past one season since things seemed to be nicely tied up. Surprisingly, the second season was as good as the first, if not better, but I was certain that two seasons was it. I mean, how many more cases could they solve with Jane's tattoos? The third season took me by surprise, again, with good stories and great acting (Rich Dot Com is my favorite character. His irreverent humor never fails to crack me up). I don't know how long they can keep this going, but I'll keep watching as long as the quality remains high.

OK as a reboot, a fun romp, predictable ending though.
Hard to review without spoilers but here goes. You COULD start here, but it makes more sense to watch from the start.I just rewatched it except episodes 8 & 17 which are too cringeworthy for words.Episode 14, the broad farce episode, was as good as I remembered, savour it as it was very well done (in every sense, especially THAT lift scene) despite being derivative, episode 18 almost as good, being a multi POV - saves money without being either a box show or a clip show.Episode 20 has a surprise special guest who makes a run of the mill expositional episode tolerable. The rest is fairly run of the mill Blindspot stuff, not as far fetched as you might expect, the whole season DOES hold together, something a writers' room and competent showrunner can achieve. While THIS series, like the previous two were reasonably tongue in cheek - the cast know EXACTLY how flipping ridiculous the while thing is, but give it their all anyway - sadly it is downhill after this; season 4 sucks basically. While the 2 Australian, recurring Canadian and returning British cast members are quite obviously taking the pee out of Americana, the Americans are not, maybe they don't get it but who cares, the Canadian showrunner does and sends up the US mindset wonderfully. The Bound & Gag Reel is reflective of the behind the scenes atmosphere, but not massively entertaining. If only they had the budget they had in this season, they could have finished it well in just one more, sadly they went forghe magic 100 at all costs.Farewell Blindspot, it could have ended here and been fine.

How many dodgy bosses can one show have?
Seriously, is every boss that joins the FBI bent these days?! Another season where they have to work against their boss who is up to no good.22 episodes of Season 3 - really enjoyed the season including Blindspot's excellent Groundhog day episode which surprised me. There is a return of deceased character which kind of spoiled things a little and took off a star because of that. Some good extras with documentaries, a tour of set and deleted scenes and the Bloopers.

Love it
Love this series, never gets boring despite I would like ONE episode just for Jane and Weller get a happy day between the drama lol. Best crime series for a long time-the best thing for me is seen all 3 in a month, now just got to wait until 4th is out as missed them on tv-I should have recorded them but was on about episod e 6 when realised, so wasn't worth it. I will repeat what has been said elsewhere though-u need to watch from very start and every episode or u will miss to much nd it wont make sense-I thought I had seen all of one disc but soon realised I had missed the last one from day before-u need the guide with u when u have a break-titles are long winded and sometimes confusing.
