Alternate Uses ...
I coach high school springboard diving at a school whose pool doesn't have water jets so the divers can see the water when spotting. I bought this to create a stream of water to ripple the surface enough for the divers to spot. We've been using this for about a week so far and it runs for the whole water practice (2-2.5 hours) at a time without problem. It sits on a 6"-wide ledge about 4' below the surface of the water. We use a 7' length of clear reinforced hose and tie the 3' section that's above the water to one of the starting blocks in the diving lane and point the stream of water just under the diving board. Having the hose secured above the water helps keep the pump from shifting on the ledge. It works great. The volume of water is more than the purpose-built water jets at the University pool, but not obnoxiously more. The divers sometimes swim up to it as a post-dive shower to get their hair out of their face. At first the divers were self-conscious because they thought it was too loud underwater, but the swimmers said they don't really notice unless they are close to the board. We lift it out of the pool after each practice to minimize potential corrosion. We happen to have an outlet 20' away from the diving board, so the cord length is perfect.

Great pump!
Working as expected. I use this pump to drain my hot tub and it’s very easy to use. Very quiet. Strong flow easily connected to the garden hose. Nice cord length.

So far so good!
Only used it once so far. Worked out fine. Filled my bathtub and used this pump to fill a cold plunge. Maybe it was because the bathtub isn’t that deep, but it pumps water at the same rate you could fill a bathtub. Got the job done just fine. Ran into an issue when first turning it on that squirted water at me, could be due to not having the hose tight enough, but it worked after double checking.

Excellent Pump For the Money
I bought his to empty our small 1,200 gallon pool. The pump worked great, has an excellent gallons per minute ratio. It also comes with a variety of connections to fit any typical garden exit hose. It was powerful to empty our pool in a couple of hours.

Efficient!
This pump is fabulous-we use it for drawing ro/di water out of a water barrel to fill fish tanks. What a time-saver!

Bad design, false advertising, Chinese junk
I put it in 9" of water and it didn't pump. I figured out I needed to tip it over to clear out the air. It has a large empty space at the bottom, presumably to make it look bigger, without providing any actual benefit. The motor is small and doesn't pump very much. I have a ¾ hp pump that pumps 10 times as much. Because of the bad design, it won't start pumping in anything less than 6" of water. Total Chinese junk. And it doesn't come with a hose connection, like is advertised.

Great value for the money
Worked great on the swim spa. I shut it off at night to make sure I didn't run it dry while I slept and it keep a good siphon and almost had the swim spa drained without power.
