Great concept and design, but way overpriced and poor audio quality.
Disclaimer: the product I received seemed to have a faulty battery. The device powered on when plugged into a charge source, and so I was able to listen to it and play with it for some time before returning. I mounted it to my helmet before I realized that it wasn't working properly, and ended up riding around with it on my helmet, even though the audio didn't work at that time.OVERALL: 5/10I really wanted to like this product, but the item I received was less quality than what I was expecting. For ~$150, you could buy a good pair of Bose wireless headphones. Now obviously, these you can't use with your bike, but if the company is asking a premium price, they should deliver a premium product.AUDIO QUALITY: 4/10It plays music out of 2 x 2W speakers. They don't have much midrange or bass, and sound pretty distorted. I guess expectations were kind of low for the fact that this is specifically meant for biking, but I can't help but feel taken advantage of with the fact that there isn't much else out there competing against it.DESIGN: 8/10This product was designed with care. Locking mechanism works well, and the ability to have a visor/desktop mount is a nice touch. It's easy to setup and seems relatively easy to use.VALUE: 3/10You don't get what you pay for, in fact, you get a lot less.FUNCTIONALITY: 6/10I liked the locking mechanism itself, but wish that it either came with an extra set of strips, or had a process to remove/transfer the locking mechanism. I was hoping I could share the device with my girlfriend, and could unmount it from my helmet to hers, but once you attach the mounting strips to your helmet, that will be the only helmet you can use this device. Pulling it off the helmet to charge is easy, and the mounting strips themselves secure the device very well. Buttons are intuitively placed, but some kind of voice activated commands or an app to pair with the device would be nice (and expected for the price).RECOMMENDATION:Consider what you want before buying. If you absolutely have to listen to music in both ears while riding a bike, and you have a lot of money to burn, then I guess you could justify this purchase and give it a shot. Otherwise I'd recommend spending the money on lightweight bluetooth headphones like the JayBird BlueBuds Sport, (http://www.amazon.com/JayBird-BlueBuds-Sport-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B00AIRUOI8/), which have great audio quality, high battery life, and you could take with you and use everywhere. When you ride your bike just put only one ear in (legal in most states, check first).

Love it!
This solves the problem for me of how to listen to music while bike riding. Headphones obviously aren't an option for safety reasons. For a long while I was using one of the speaker cases that can attach to the bike and which I can connect my iPod or flash drive. While that works OK as an inexpensive solution the problem is that with wind noise while riding, it's very hard to actually hear and enjoy the music. This audio system, while much more expensive, solves that problem. The device, including the 2 mini stereo speakers securely attach to my bike helmet with Velcro with the left and right speaker channels attached just above my left and right ears on my helmet. I can still hear environmental noise such as cars to stay safe but also I can hear music from my iPod in crystal clear stereo right outside my ears. Wind noise is not a problem at all. Also, it operates by Bluetooth so I just clip my iPod onto my waist and let the music play! The rechargeable battery lasts a good while and recharges quickly. So, even though it is more expensive, to me it's worth it because I enjoy the music so much more than before and so enjoy my ride so much more too.

A decent item, but not at this luxury price range.
This product is expensive for what it offers, so I had high expectations. If it were $40 I think I would give it around a 3.5 - 4 star rating. But at this price, it's definitely deep in regret territory. The sound quality is just terrible. I understood that there wouldn't be great bass, but the low frequency range is just not present at all. And that extends well in to the detail of any bassline, not just the sub 100hz. Truly disappointing. I also had the battery die with just 3 rides of ~40 minutes each. Maybe it wasn't fully charged, but we'll see.The good parts: - The attachment points to the helmet are solid. No complaints there. - The buttons to turn on/off, adjust volume and long press to switch track is intuitive and easy to use - Safety is what I was hoping for. I can definitely hear the presence of nearby cars or other cyclists.Maybe I'll try to replace the factory speakers with something higher quality and update this review.

I enjoy it!!!!
When riding solo I like to listen to some nice motivating tunes. Also my job requires me to be available at all times so missing calls is a no no.This little device does the job. Before I had to to have one ear bud in and let the other tuck in my jersey. It always pulled everything the wrong way.Of course I always missed my calls.Freewheeln' is sort of corny looking and I would never wear it with the guys. My wife laughs at me when I wear it. Lol!Bottom line if you want to bike and listen your music as well as not miss any phone calls. This is the deal.Good sound quality, and a fair price.Buy it!

Surprised as to how well they work!
I have taken them on three of my rides. One about two hours long with non stop music and the battery kept going strong. Sound is good, a bit on the high with not much of a bass, but nothing to worry about if this is used as a companion to your bike rides. Blue tooth features work very very well. Its not heavy. I guess the issue is as to on which helmet you are installing them, You would want to set the position of the speaker while wearing the helmet.Hopefully a future design can be made less bulky.Sad thing is it will not connect to my new iPhone. No answer from the vendor!
