If my memory is correct, I think the only online aspect of this game is comparison of scores with your friends. However, the game has areas and items that can only be unlocked by Skylanders of a certain element, so to be able to get to every area you will need at least one of each element. That makes the game replayable once you get new characters. Skylanders Spyro's Adventure starts you out with 3 elements: Spyro-Magic, Trigger Happy-Tech, and Gill Grunt-Water. Who you decide to get is really up to personal preference, but in addition to this set you will still need one each for Fire, Earth, Air, Life, and Undead. I also recommend ones who can fly, because in some areas it is highly useful. Fire- Sunburn or Flameslinger. Earth - Dino-Rang is fun.
