A must have for security.
I know some people have trouble with technology and I get that but what everyone needs to understand is that now days you must have some kind of protection on your PC or things will not work right. Now having said that you must also follow directions given with each device to get the results they advertise . I put the PhotoStick in my 1st computer and followed the directions and within about 10 min. hade over 3000 pictures downloaded did everything they said found duplicates and so on. Put it in 2nd computer older laptop did the same thing just took longer had almost 6000 pics on this one. What was most amazing this to me was this thing even found pics that I had just deleted on the newer laptop that I had not trashed yet. The next day I put the PhotoStick back in newer laptop and took about 3 min to load over 8000 pics and began deleting and grouping pics , worked like a charm. Did this also the next day no problem working great. I think it all depends on your computer not having a virus or that you must follow the path they say to use it correctly. Great product works flawlessly .

excellent photo tool
I have a ten year old desktop computer. It takes forever to boot up. It is noisy and uses a lot of electricity. There is a lot of stuff on this computer, including a lot of photos. I had no idea how many photos - just that it was a lot.I got this photostick Friday and ran it on my desktop. It searched for photos. In less than five minutes it found 8875. Then I ran the photo organizer. This took considerably longer than the initial run. The end result, though, was that I had 8875 photos all backed up on my photostick and alphabetized. The interesting thing is that it found pictures that my parents had that were previously digitized. wonderful photo tool.

It's almost too easy to search and save all your image files so you can have peace of mind that memories will not be lost
I have thousands of photographs and movies of family. They are precious to me as many of those pictured are no longer here. These photos and movies are scattered with minimal organization on three different computers and a total of 5 hard drives, along with numerous CDs and DVDs. I have not been able to find any software organizer to pull all of these together in one place, until ThePhotoStick. It is Painless! It will search out and copy just about every format a novice is likely to have. There are a few settings you can make to suit your preferences, such as putting all images into a single folder, or keeping a file/path type structure. You can select to search entire drives or exclude certain drives, folders, etc. I plugged one ThePhotoStick 128 into all three of my computers and I know that All of my image files are safe. And here is one caveat to be aware of: if you have copies of the same image on different computers, you will have multiple copies on ThePhotoStick, taking up space needlessly. The Seller offers very good, sometimes slow, customer support, and they tell me there is no known way to eliminate those duplicates, at least at this time. Lesson learned: I purchased 2 more sticks for a total of 3 (actually 4, but more about that later). I will use 1 per machine. This means I will probably never run out of storage space because I take family photos and videos, I am not a professional, and I won't live long enough to fill hundreds of Gigabytes. I have actually purchased 4 of the 128s. My first purchase, from their website, was for two. I wasn't sure how they would work for me, so I used one and put the second somewhere else. I don't know where that somewhere else is now! I am not an employee, nor a paid reviewer. It would be really nice if they would send me a replacement, but I haven't asked for that. And if they do, I don't think I could compliment the company any more than I have.UPDATE: I have downgraded my rating from 5->4 Stars. I was forgiving the sometimes slow customer support in favor of a product that seemed to be just about perfect. Two events since my first review: 1>This stick failed to work, to be recognized, by two different Macs; useless! That's 1/3 ThePhotoStick 128, a 33% failure rate. Admittedly a too small sample size, but enough for me. 2>Multiple email contacts with tech support about deleting files failed to get me any useful information. Then a possible solution came to me in a dream: try a 3rd party file inventory/cleanup app. It worked, but I had to do an hour's worth of fooling around with deleting, moving, and emptying trash to solve my problem. So, I am suggesting from my experience that if you want to take a small chance buy this from Amazon rather than directly from the seller. Amazon stands behind their return policy and won't give you a headache. And if you get a working stick, it is great.

Didn't register photos already loaded on first photostick, Takes FOREVER
Just a few comments:1. The scan took over a day to complete. It won't run in the background so I keep having to refresh my window. I even changed the settings so my computer wouldn't go to sleep...ever...just to get the scan finished.2. This is my second photostick, and it did not register any of the photos loaded onto the first stick (and Yes, I am using the same exact brand of photostick)3. It loads absolutely EVERYTHING...thousands of photos from my trash bin, stock photos on my computer, everything I didn't even know I had.4. I cannot figure out how to select just my photo files and transfer them to the photostick. If you want to be picky, it only allows you the option of scanning C drive or the recovery drive5. Once they are all loaded onto the photostick, you have to then save them to the stick...it ran for another day and a half and only loaded 15% before finally freezing. My only option was to start the scan all over again, from the beginning! UGH.6. I went in to the 15% that actually did load/save and tried to delete some of the useless photos that were saved. It took 5 minutes just to delete 15 photos. I have THOUSANDS that will need to be deleted b/c I don't want them saved on the stick to begin with...I can't even imagine how long that will take and who the heck has the time for that???7. I tried to play a video that was saved to the photostick...it said I needed to purchase another app in order to play it! What the what???!!!8. I have a great computer, so we can't blame it on my computer being slow or old.9. I bought this back in December and just never had the time to do the backup, now it's too late to get a refund or exchange.10. Since this is my second photostick, I have dumped about $100 into this project. I should have just bought an external hard-drive and copied/pasted the photo files that I wanted to backup and would have been done with it. I am now second-guessing my ability to make smart decisions ;0(11. I would love it if the company would refund me my money even though it's been 10 months...we'll see! If they do, I will update my review.
