LG OLED65B8SLC 65-Inch Premium 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart OLED TV (2018 Model) - Black

I've owned the TV for four months now and it's hands down the best TV I've owned across all inputs. I procrastinated a lot before buying this model, looking at the other LG Oled models and even considering Qled. In the end I plumbed for this beauty. I can't really compare it to the others having not owned them, but I don't regret it! I can't see anything being that much better than (with what's available in terms of input quality from sky/virgin/Netflix) this for the price difference. A bit of internet research and you'll find some good calibration settings. I don't know who's watching these with 100 Oled lighting but they've probably gotten sunburn! Colour just pops out, crisp picture even standing right in front of it. It can get a bit of getting used to the contrast and brightness, fiddle with the settings to get it right as the black is black, making dark scenes well... Dark! Can't fault the TV, I don't use the sound via TV as I have it hooked up to the surround sound so I can't really comment other than I've never found a TV yet that produces high quality sound, especially bass. You've forked out over £1,000 for a TV may as well treat yourself to a surround sound system and do it properly.

If you want an OLED TV you could do a lot worse than the B8 from LG.I was concerned my wife was going to flip at the size of this thing (55" is the smallest option) and I must admit a few eyebrows were raised when I was setting up. However when I fired this thing up the reaction to the picture quality was priceless! The LG Artshow app is particularly impressive!I've never spent this much on a TV before and I know £1000+ is a lot to ask but I am just enjoying this TV so much it brings so much depth and immersion to movies, PS4 games have a richness of colour to them and the LG software is fast and responsive with one of the best UI's I've seen on a smart TV.Set up and configuration is easy, agreed with one reviewer here that switching off interpolation (LG TruMotion) helps retain the film makers original picture, during movies, but having it switched on for live sports smooths out the action nicely. Furthermore I have not suffered any issues with micro-stutter as mentioned by the same reviewer.In short, since the substantial price drop this TV is great value and delivers on every level. If you can justify the price tag you will not be disappointed.

I love this TV in nearly every way however watching very dark scenes like Game Of Thrones it cant really handle in the blacks. Maybe I'm doing something wrong (after messing around with some of the picture settings) but Season 8 Episode 3 looks pretty bad and there doesn't seem to be anyway to adjust the settings to get rid of the horrible noise in the blacks. I am aware I'm not watching it from a BluRay source so that will also be a fault and not the TV's but still it looks very bad compared to my Dell XPS 9570 4K LCD screen.All the pros I can only echo from what everyone else has said on here. It's wonderful to game on too! I have my PS4 Pro hooked up to it and love the image quality. Sound is bloody good for a TV I was blown away by how good it is compared to what I was used to with my old TV.. obviously not the best but then you should get a soundbar. But for my little room I'm renting the TV sound is loud and clear enough!I am very happy with this TV despite the noise in extreme dark scenes lets just say but for the price compared to other LG OLED models its a damn good TV that should last you a while yet... seeing as the better models are marginal improvements over this one.I just want to thank Amazon on this occasion for allow me to purchase this over 6 months with 0% interest. Without this option I wouldn't have been able to afford it.

For an " entry level " oled this TV has amazing picture quality when viewing 4k HDR video's. Some midrange LCD/led TVs are the price of this oled TV with inferior picture quality.The B8 has four full fat 4k hdmi ports, supports Dolby visiob, Dolby Atmos and HDR 10. To get the best out of this TV you will need to feed it 4k HDR content which thankfully is increasing day by day. Xbox one X with enhanced 4k HDR games looks jaw droppingly good on this tv.Out of the box the TV is already well calibrated but I would advise to get the TV professionally calibrated to get the best out of this TV set. As with any oled burn in is a risk especially with watching channels with static logos such as BBC news, sky news etc. There's plenty of guides on the internet on how to avoid burn in.I would definitely recommend this TV as with any oled TVs they have the best picture quality, infinte contrast, deep blacks, wide viewing angles and excellent picture settings out of the box. At £1199 this is the best TV you can buy at the price believe me no LCD or led TV comes close.

Having used LED tv's for some time and becoming increasingly frustrated at having to run the panel lottery everytime i bought a new TV i decided to try for an Oled. Yes, it is still a risk and you could end up returning 1 or many tv's if the panel wasn't up to scratch but the previous Samsung TV's were just awful. They were high end too and i was prepared to pay upwards of 1500 pounds on another inferior panel.Thankfully my Oled is near perfect, yest it still has slight uniformity issues but they are only visible on the most grey screens. everyday use it is perfect. No dirty screen effect at all. Watching sports, especially Football is perfect. Camera pans left to right with no distracting vertical lines.The blacks have blown me away, the colours pop and the TV has a huge amount of settings to get the picture how you like. It looks good too. very thin. Love the magic remote and all tv's should have one(Samsung ditched theirs)The only slight down side is the speakers on the tv. they aren't up to much but i use a soundbar all the time with my tv so they don't get used. Oled is a risk, there are many stories of image retention and burn in. But if you are careful and follow the real advice then you will have no issues. I game on mine too and have had no issues. Remember, if you had a supercar, you would look after it in a certain way to preserve it. same with premium tv's and tech. Yes Samsung are shouting about micro LED...we are at least a couple of years away from that tech being affordable and scalable for the consumer market, so for now....If you don't want light bleed/blooming/failing LED's dirty screen effect etc etc...give an Oled a shot....you won't go back...well until microled gets cheaper.

The seller sold me a defective TV. At first I didnt notice the colour burn and discolouration until I displayed brighter colours. It became an eye sore that only got wore. I tried asking for a replacement but the seller had no more in stock. I asked for a return and refund but they refused the times and dates I offered to arrange for a collection. Instead, they told me they would only collect it Mon to Fri 9am-5pm. These hours were not reasonable collection times for as they are working hours. But they did not care, told me will not help me unless I arranged a friend or family member to be at the house if I can't be there. I filed an A-Z claim as I was left with a faulty TV and no refund. Many weeks later, after calls upon calls with different Amazon reps, all Amazon offered, was for me to pay & organise for a courier service and for its packaging myself! Apparently I would have been reimbursed, but the fact that I was being told this after I had spend hundreds on this item and waited almost a month for some resolution felt unethical. I should not have to arrange a collection myself and invest more time and money into resolving a problem i did not create. This has been nothing but an inconvenience. Definitely lost trust with Amazon in regards to third party sellers. Won't not advice anyone to rely on the usual service Amazon is known for giving if buying from third party. Never ordering from this seller again!

I bought this LG OLED55B8SLC recently to replace a 10 year old 40" Samsung LED TV. I have not been disappointed by my purchase. The PQ is outstanding. Just needed a few small tweaks in the settings to get rid of the soap opera effect and I am still amazed by the stunning picture. 4K HDR source content looks fantastic and it upscaled HD and SD content extremely well.The sound is acceptable but I use a sound bar anyway and have not experienced lip sync issues.This TV is much brighter than my aging LED that it replaced on its defaults and you can get it brighter if needed in a bright room. I would highly recommend this product as I don't think it's worth paying the extra for the C8 model

I read the comment about this being a really big TV but wife was won over by the quality of picture etc. I bit the bullet and sure enough, after similar comments on the size, wife was won over by it's features and picture quality. This was a great buy and the only down side is that it has made all other TV's in the house redundant. Everyone wants to use this one and I am at the bottom of the list.I'll have to save up for another one for my shed!
