Very dry wood, arrived split at bottom glue joint

I bought two panels. They arrived quicker than promised. They're beautiful. They're exactly what I wanted except... I got the Dark Brown Wash and it seems they use fire to make it dark brown. That's fine but the fire seems to have been from gasoline. Both of these beautiful panels smell very strongly of gasoline. The entire guest room has smelled of gasoline since I received these. I've had a fan on them for a couple of weeks now and the smell is subsiding but I'd still remove them if I had a guest coming. If it wasn't in the middle of winter I'd have these outside until the smell goes away. Again, beautiful but be warned if you get the Dark Brown Wash.
