I purchased this to replace the battery in my Dell Latitude 7480 that wouldn't hold a charge anymore. I paid $31 for the laptop at a used tech sale that my company runs every year so I wasn't interested in purchasing a Dell battery for over $100. The battery itself was easy to install (there are no instructions so you'll need to find a tutorial online) and while I consider myself a competent DIYer and generally tech savvy person I was still nervous about the process. The tools that come with the battery work well and are useful if you don't have any at home. There is a blue plastic film that covering the battery that needs to come off first and the tools were helpful to remove it. (I did not remove this the first time I installed the battery and it would only turn on when plugged into the AC Adapter.) Once correctly in, the computer turned on without being plugged into the AC Adapter but the laptop did not see the battery. I opened the battery settings and it showed that the battery was charged at 100%. I let the computer sit for a few hours and ran a bunch of programs, watched some shows, etc. and the battery charge percentage did not change - all while saying that there was no battery installed. I followed the troubleshooting suggestions I found on the Dell website, reddit threads, youtube, etc. but was unable to solve the problem of not seeing the battery. Even worse, the laptop completely shut down the second I plugged my AC Adapter in to the laptop. At one point it started beeping at me and running a diagnostic program that neither my husband or I have ever even seen before. I attempted to contact the seller for assistance/advice but they did not offer any helpful advice - simply that I needed to contact Amazon to solve my problem. Ultimately, I removed the new battery and reinstalled the old one. Reviews by other users are positive so maybe I was doing something wrong.
