Had this a little over a month and so far it's great. I wouldn't say it clears out my algea and dirt but it doesn't clog up and has been able to continuously aerate my pond. Able to get adequate flow to have both feature and fountain going at once.

Excellent! Buy a vinyl tube and a hose clamp to attach if you want a fountain and waterfall.

I had to look through many filters for pond and read a ton of reviews to choose what should work for me the best, and decided, that this should be good. It is not. It killed the most of my freshwater snails, sucking them through the big openings and trapping them inside. Thought the foam is there, but there are also many other big openings, that are not covered with foam and those little creatures get inside and die a horrible death. They will also stuck in the shower head, blocking the water and suffering terribly, but unable to escape. The water after I installed the filter, started blooming with string algae (a "gift" from the seller of the Lilly for my pond). The water became so cloudy (it was clear before). The only thing that changed then in my pond - is this filter was added. Of course I can't return it after it was used, so I am stuck with it and am trying to make the most of it. We'll see how it goes.

It was skeptical about this pond pump and filter system, im my mind i assumed something in this price range wouldn't be effective... Well I was very wrong... I hate to admit I let my pond go for almost 2 years , i got frustrated about Hawks eating my fish and just gave up and it became a yucky, gross and brown pond for frogs to take over.. well I decided to get it up and going again and I used this and my water is crystal clear now for almost 2 months , it works great , I do have to rinse it off every few days , but I can deal with that ... This this is well worth the price and it definitely compares to the more expensive brands that those "guys" or those "bosses" have , because i have used both and this thing is right up there with those brands

Cleared my green water quickly (3 days). Works great. A little difficult to reassemble after cleaning. Just make sure that the snaps snap.

Works good but wish it had one sponge filter instead of multiple. Also the outlet hole one the pump is to big for the accessories that came with is, they come loose and do not tighten all the way. Do like the size and functions good for the shallow end of my pond.

I'm excited about this pump/filter. The pump part is great - it's powerful and can easily provide water for both the fountain and an additional water feature (another fountain, a cascade, etc) or for utility uses like watering your garden from the pond, or draining it. I'm not sure how effective the filtration process will be (it's still cold out so there's not much to filter). The filter seems to be made of three different elements; a pretty open mesh foam, "bioballs" which probably just provide surface area for microbial action, and two plastic boxes containing what appear to be ceramic balls. There is also the UV light which is designed to kill algae. There is room in the case for additional filter media, should you wish to add any. My only complaint is a small one, but one I'm surprised wasn't caught during design or testing. The UV clarifier is an external element to the pump, and is attached by a wire. The wire is not long enough for the UV clarifier to install in it's slot in the housing when the pump is where it needs to be so the outlet passes out of the housing. I don't think this will impact effectiveness, but stil a surprise. See the photo. It's for this reason that the system gets four and not 5 stars.
