I found this digital thermometer to work quite well for calibrating our ovens. It was very easy to use and a good value. I used a twist tie to attach the probe in the center of my oven and then did the calibration procedure for the oven. It took some time for everything to balance out, but now the oven temperature is much close to the set point and cooking times for recipes is more accurate.

Thermometer was accurate to my analog one. Like that it has a cloth covered probe cord so it doesn’t get hot.

I bought this one purpose, to confirm the digital temp on my Samsung oven. It did that just fine. The temperature accuracy is within three degrees, was easy to use, and it functioned just fine. Now that I have confirmed the oven probe works, there's no more need for it, so $13 was a bargain. There are issues. The box is a cheap, snap together box. Not much to look at. The magnet strength leaves much to be desired. I cannot attach it to the oven door because it is so weak the box slides down the door.

This doesn't accurately measure the temperature of my oven. It may work to measure temperature of cooked food, but hang it in your oven, and it's all over the place. Sadly, returned it.

Disappointed with purchase due to weak magnet and short cable. Some way to clip probe to oven rack would have been nice, too.

I compared: • my oven setting • internal bimetal mechanical thermometer • IR thermometer • Hotloop temperature probe. I placed the probe in an empty cast-iron skillet, covered with a cast-iron lid, and let the temperature stabilize for 15–20 minutes. There could be some local heating from the heating element when it cycles on, but it definitely looks like the Hotloop is off by at least 10° My oven dial, my mechanical temperature dial, and my IR probe, all read within 5°.

Poor construction

It is not accurate. I put it in boilding water and instead of reading 100C it read 106.6C Is there any adustment or calibration ?

Tengo un horno de gas que no indica la temperatura, así que siempre cocinaba un poco a ojo. Por esto decidí comprar este termómetro digital Hotloop y la experiencia ha cambiado por completo. Lo acabo de usar y me ha sorprendido lo rápido que mide la temperatura real del interior. Ahora sé con exactitud cuándo ha alcanzado los grados que necesito, algo fundamental cuando preparo pan, bizcochos o recetas que requieren precisión. La sonda metálica se coloca fácilmente dentro del horno, mientras que la pantalla digital queda fuera. Lo mejor es que incorpora un imán en la parte trasera, lo que permite fijarlo directamente a la puerta del horno. Así no tengo que buscar dónde apoyarlo, y siempre lo tengo a la vista. La pantalla es grande, clara y muy fácil de leer, incluso a cierta distancia. El cable es resistente y tiene la longitud suficiente para que pueda colocar la sonda en la zona que me interesa. Además, cambiar entre °C y °F se hace con solo pulsar un botón, y encenderlo/apagarlo también es sencillo. Si tienes un horno de gas o uno en el que no te fíes del termostato, este termómetro es una inversión muy recomendable. Da precisión, seguridad y tranquilidad en la cocina.
