Ignore “age 13+”, it’s perfect for 10-12 year olds, too small for most teens & adults
I haven’t reviewed anything in years but I really wanted to review this one because it’s amazing. My son is 10 but will turn 11 in a few weeks. I spent ages going back and forth between this and the smaller pocket mod (petite? I think it’s called?) because this model is advertised as ages 13+ and the smaller one says it’s for ages 8+. My son is about 4’8” tall, he’s great on his little razor electric scooter (the stand up type) that is made for ages 8+ and goes a max of 7.5 mph. Only thing is that my kiddo still hasn’t been able to figure out how to ride a bike, he couldn’t get the hang of it when he was younger and isn’t willing to do training wheels at this point lol so I was nervous about whether he’d be able to figure out how to balance in a sitting-down scooter like this one. And so I was very concerned about not getting him something that’s too big, goes too fast etc for his age and abilities. But this thing turned out to be the absolute perfect match for him. He got it on Christmas and we took it to the park and another kid there had the smaller version of this, the pocket mod petite or wherever it’s called, and she was about 6 years old and the petite was a good fit for her, but it was so small and went so slow compared to this one that I was able to see that I absolutely made the right choice. The petite would’ve been ridiculous for my 10 year old! So the age recommendations on these are just not realistic. The smaller pocket mod that’s advertised as 8+ is more for ages 5-8 and this pocket mod, advertised 13+, is more for ages 9-12.I used my electric scooter along side him and mine has an MPH counter and when I matched his speed exactly, we were going 13-14 MPH, and we did hit 15MPH when going full speed down hills but usually his max was 14 MPH. But I think the advertised max of 15 MPH is accurate so long as the rider is around my son’s weight.Anyway , it’s a great ride for a pre-teen and my almost 11 year old loves it. As I said he’s about 4’ 8” or so tall and he weighs 70 pounds. In comparison— I am 5’6” tall and weigh 150 lbs and am a 35 year old woman. I can sit on it and ride it however with my height it’s an awkward fit, and at my weight it goes much slower but still fast enough to get around, I would guess I was going about 10-12 MPH when I tried it at max speed but that is a complete guess. My husband is 6’2” and 185 lbs and he attempted to sit on it while it was on its kickstand but he’s so tall there was no way he could fit himself into this thing. So I think the advertised max weight of 170 seems right but the more important part IMO would be a max height. It’s a perfect size for my son and seems like it would fit and be appropriate for kids a little shorter than my son as well. And it can fit up to a 5’6” person although by that height it’s a bit cramped but I was able to ride it around, but I wouldn’t recommend buying it for someone that tall, it’s not a comfortable fit at my height. I would think the ideal height range would be around 4’ 6” - 5’ 3” or so, with a little wiggle room on either side but that range seems like it would be the ideal height range for this model. The nice thing is that the throttle and breaks are both at the handles like a typical e-scooter so you don’t have to worry about reaching the pedals with your feet, but you do have to have the arm length to reach the handles, and I don’t believe the seat adjusts forward or anything. But as long as you’re at least 4 1/2 feet tall I don’t think there would be any issue at all reaching the handles. However if you’re too tall your knees will go up to your face and it’s uncomfortable at my height (5’ 6”) and impossible for someone over 6’.Also note that you do need to charge the battery for 12 hours before the first ride, however after that it only takes maybe an hour or so to get a full charge, haven’t watched to see the exact time it takes. My son takes it out with a full charge and drives it around up and down the grassy field near our house for about 45 minutes before it slows down and he needs to bring it home to charge, but by then he’s generally ready to stop anyway, so the advertised battery life of 40 minutes per charge seems correct and it lasts long enough for a kid to ride it for fun until they’re tired out and ready to stop anyway. In the end I would recommend this for kids in that 9-12 range and can say that it was a perfect fit for my son who is somewhere between 4’8”-4’10” and who weighs 70 pounds. I can see this working well for a teen or young adult to get around campus but only if they’re not very tall, I would think someone would need to be a few inches shorter than me to ride it comfortably so I would only buy this model for someone with a max height of maybe 5’3” or so, and also if they’re not too heavy as I think the max weight of 170 is the only recommendation from Razor that’s probably correct. I think the advertised age range on this one as well as the petite pocket mod are completely bogus and I’m a very cautious mom but there’s no way this is for 13+ as many teens and adults will be too big for it. As I said above, after purchasing this and seeing another young child at the park using the pocket mod petite version, the better age ranges would be ages 5-8 for the smaller one and ages 9-12 for this one, but keep in mind that height will be the determining factor here. Also as I mentioned my son has never learned to ride a bike but could balance and ride on a stand-up scooter perfectly. Well he hopped on to this and he was a little nervous and wobbly for the first 30 seconds but that was it. He’s had it for a week and has used it 1-3 times a day every day since he got it, and he has only had one fall when he went full speed over a slightly elevated man hole covering and got a minor scratch on his leg, and he learned to avoid or else go slower over things like that. So if you’re worried about safety, the nice thing is they’re very close to the ground already on this thing. Need to practice the same safety precautions as you would for any bike or scooter but it’s not any more dangerous imo than your standard kids’ scooter, and much safer than a quad, a true moped, things like that.Overall, it’s a great looking sit-down scooter that was the perfect choice for my 10 year old son. Highly recommend this product for kids around his age and size. Hope this info helps! And this review wasn’t sponsored or anything I just write a lot lol.

So Fun to ride!
Quiet, smooth riding, and so much fun to drive. My grandkids love it. Grandmother loves riding it also! Which battery life was longer as it takes too long to charge.

Big hit for Christmas! Thank you Amazon for last minute troubleshooting help
What can I say? What 7/11 year old doesn't want this? Our little punki is the coolest kid on the block! We ordered this ahead of holidays to ensure NO delays. We share custody and my stepdaughter is here for holidays 2 short weeks returning back in summer when it's blazing hot in AZ. Meaning we had limited time for enjoyment and were totally ok with that. To ensure all ok we immediately opened box, inspected bike and put together, as reviews said the steering/handle bars might be a bit tricky? Depends on your handiness. It wasn't until a week after it was displayed ready to go I asked a friends young daughter to test it in front of house when she told me works great, its so cute but back tire is flat, you wouldn't notice this until a child sat on it. In an absolute panic we wrote to customer service asking for a tire or help or what do we do!?!??! Kid and santa and Christmas- needs excitement 💁🏻They truly truly saved the day (week, month) as less than 13 hours after I sent issue ticket we received a new bike. No flat no issues. You can't return these things, it's impossible. Thank gosh they were accomdating. We can't say enough about our gratitude for the help the ease of service and best of all- a young girl who has to continually travel back and forth to see dad or mom had a great Christmas break.Ships as promisedBox it bigYou put on back tire (easy) and fit steering column in, charge and it's readyRuns great! Not a scratch, issue or mark on itStorage under seat was enough for her Phone a jacket and sometime a water bottleComes with stickers to put their name along with other fun emoji type to add as wellOur 9 year old seems scared at first, she is tinier than most kids her ageOnce I explained 2 fingers on brake at all times, showed her how to go slow brake stop and keep doing that, less than 5 minutes she took off with a big woohooo! All the kids in neighborhood want to ride it 😜. Rides up down sidewalks great, on grass, over rocks and so on.I recommend this purchase. It's a hit.I'll update my review if we see any issues

BEST gift! Fast, fun, exciting.
A hundred million stars for this. First of all, it arrived packaged well. And it was mostly already put together, it only took my husband less than 10 minutes to finish getting it all assembled. My 8 year old daughter was able to spend 2 minutes learning how, without getting on it, to ride. And then she was off. It's very easy for a child to figure out.NOTE: The brake is hard for small handed kids. My 8 year old barely can squeeze it, barely fits her fingers around it. So they will need practice to learn. Now this thing runs up to 15mph they say. I thought, hey, no problem -- my 10 year old son will love beating his little sister while he races ahead on his regular bike. BOY WAS I WRONG! It's extremely difficult for a kids bicycle to keep up with this. So we actually just went and my son was jealous so he bought another motorized Razor scooter to keep up with his sister.15mph is fast. I bought new helmets for the kids. I feel better about that... And I think maybe they should be wearing pads, but we live in a cul-de-sac with one side of the street having no homes or driveway cut-outs so I let them drive on the sidewalk for the straight shot of 500-600' and it's a major thrill. Also note, you can see in the photo there's a "light." It does not work. But we wanted a light, so we just bought some of those stick on LED battery powered lights. A 3 pack for like $8. Anyway, below the fake light is a spot with the Razor sticker on the front of the bike. It's a perfect spot for a light. We needed puffy 2 sided tape squares to make it stay firmly, but I feel like it's worth it instead of making my kid stop when it's starting to get dark. It's pretty quiet, so your child should be supervised or given major instructions. And for the record, I rode this a couple times myself and it is SO FUN! It feels very sturdy. My husband, who is WAY over the weight limit, rode it and said it absolutely could support his weight. He seemed to be going fast and the scooter didn't seem to drag.

Precious but one minor flaw
My 7 year old daughter LOVES this scooter. My only complaint and reason I knocked off a star is the kickstand. It’s hard for me to engage the kickstand myself as an adult, my daughter couldn’t begin to get it done. She has to prop it up against something to keep it upright. Overall very cute and so fun! Just wish the kickstand were easier for a child to engage.

This is not a toy for small children, made more for young adults or adults.
This is my first electric scooter and I have to say it was super easy to assemble and is super cute! Smaller than I thought it would be but I'm 32 5'5 & 150lbs and it rides great. Its nice and light weight and goes pretty darn fast. The gear to operate is on the right side and you just pull it back and it goes the breaks that are located on the left hand side work great but there's not much wiggle room anywhere pretty tight fit for me. It has a small kick stand on the bottom that is easy to function and it comes with the charger witch is also easy to use and plug in for optimal use. I would recommend this to anyone who needs something to get them around town close to their homes. I also like that it has a little storage area under the seat for a lock or small items. So far after riding it all the way around my neighborhood and some it didn't loose power or slow down on me and stayed cruising. The directions were kind of hard to understand so I just went on Youtube and watched a quick video on how to properly assemble. If someone were to buy this for a small child I wouldn't recommend it I would go with something smaller and slower it does go pretty fast for a Lil guy. All in all I would definitely give it a four star rating because I wish it was a tad bit bigger and that it had lights on it I had to install lights underneath the scooter and in front and back. Also, the initial charge time of 12 hours plus is a long time to wait when your excited to get out and scoot about. I would teeth is to my friends and family who already think the scooter is too cool. All in all its a great scooter for the price if I were to make any changes I would make it a bit larger so riding wouldn't be such a tight squeeze and more foot spacing, I have small feet but there still isn't much space below for your feet. It says the weight restriction is 170 lbs and I'm 150 and she runs great way faster than a bike going full speed and exhausted. Light weight easy to assemble and a great idea for someone who just needs to get around a few miles from home. Its very light weight and could tip over easily and if you plan on taking it places definitely buy a lock and chain because it is so easy to pick up someone could easily take it and put it in a car or truck no problem. Also be careful when taking turns because it can tip easily since there isn't much weight to the scooter. All in all a great buy worth the money for sure!

So much better than a power wheels!
Perfect for my 8 year old! She wanted something she could ride in the backyard without getting stuck. We haven't increased the speed yet but, she is excited to work towards 15mph once she perfects at 10mph. It was a perfect birthday gift. It also holds up to 170lbs, so Mom and Dad were able to try it out as well and it didn't bog down. Definitely recommend this Razor Scooter!

She LOVES it! Best investment she's ever made.
It is everything my daughter had hoped for! She's 10 and it's just the right size for her. She scoots around town all the time. Its not too fast and not too slow. Wasn't hard to assemble either. She saved her money and bought it herself. She is so happy she did 💗 Great investment for pre-teens or young teens to feel alittle independence.
