Received it a few days ago and used it today to straighten a fence post. It did a great job. I'm glad I bought it. Yeah it's a bit heavy, but I don't want a lightweight comparing. I'd definitely buy it again.

Great quality for a good price! Pay attention to the cable length, the cable is doubled so 5' comes from the unit to the hook and back to the unit. Also, a 1.5 ton or bigger may have a heavier made cable than the 3/4 (.75) ton unit. The cable length just depends on WHICH ONE you buy. I found a 5',7' and 10', cable... make sure that you buy what you need!!

I'm not a freakishly strong person. 6000Lbs rating is more than enough to pull out a 2.25" white birch with a 3' ft stump (for leverage) in wet spring conditions. First time I've used it, under load I observed multiple teeth on the rachet wheel visibly deformed. Was not using a cheater bar, I was a point that I was advancing one tooth at a time. This is not a design failure, this is a metallurgy failure. Too late to return or try for an exchange. Just saying, this item will fail under load. It should not be possible for a 57 yr old male to deform the teeth under normal usage. For reference, a 70 year old Ford 9N tractor with a draw bar rated for 2000Lbs pulled the stump just fine.
