Ethique Everyday Solid Shampoo Bar with Vitamin C, 3.88 oz

I can’t use scented shampoo or I’ll get a migraine. This is perfect. I love it.

i love the Ethique brand for sustainability but also for how there are very few ingredients for me to react to (i have MCAS) so it’s fairly clean as well as effective at cleaning hair and scalp. i use the purple bar for my platinum hair and even with ridiculously hard water, it keeps my hair from discoloring. the fragrance is very mild with a faint kind of violet scent. i wash my hair only once a week and i can keep a bar for almost a year, but not sure about the new shape. i gave this five stars because its a great product at a very affordable price point but i have to say i am NOT a fan of the new shapes - they are hard to hold (especially for someone with joint instability) and i really wish they would bring the old shape back, but overall - a dang good product.

I love Ethique's Smoothing Shampoo. I've used them for YEARS, even back when it was Frizz Wrangler. I randomly chose them when I decided to reduce our plastic use. Lucky me, it actually worked!! It lathers up really well and doesn't leave a film. My wavy/curly hair is notificably calmer. I will keep using as long as they are around!

This is the first time I have used a shampoo bar. I have shoulder length, straight, medium thickness, caucasian virgin hair. I don't use any styling products or heat on my hair, so I just need a simple shampoo. I followed the instructions on how to use the bar. It lathered nice (as much as my previous sulfate-free liquid shampoo), and smelled neutral. I didn't use any conditioner before using this product and I didn't start after using this product. My hair felt just the same as with my previous liquid shampoo I was using. Overall, I am happy with the performance of this little shampoo bar. It works well as a body wash and I even used it to shave my legs. The company stayed true to their message; the box was paper, and even the plastic tape was compostable. Unfortunately, this little bar went fast. I got about 40 hair washes and about 80 body washes out of it. At that price point, each shower was pretty pricey. Before using this bar, I used Everyone Soap shampoo, which is $9 for 32oz at a local discount store, so this is a huge step up in expense. While it's great that the bar didn't come in any plastic packaging, I wish they had production sites in the US or was at least sold locally. Does it really make sense for me to have a single small bar shipped halfway across the world so I can spare the production of single plastic bottle?
