Ideal for rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and other small animals, it supports dental health and digestion while encouraging natural foraging behavior. This 12 lb box delivers fresh, low-dust, leafy hay that keeps your pet engaged and thriving. ## Description Timothy Hay is the most popular hay for small animals and it's easy to see why. It's leafy hay, with a soft stem, and it has just enough flower heads to attract bunnies (because it's yummy). 80% of your friend's diet should be great hay. Small animals need a constant supply of fiber to keep them healthy, so never let them run out. Ever. To keep the chinchilla hay smelling nice (which makes it yummier and more enticing), make sure they get a fresh supply at least once a day. ## Features - Premium Quality – Soft, leafy 2nd cut Timothy hay with the perfect balance of fiber and protein. - Supports Health – Aids digestion, prevents GI stasis, and keeps teeth naturally worn down. - Fresh & Hand-Packed – Minimally handled, hand-packed in the USA to preserve quality and reduce dust. - Ideal for Small Pets – Perfect for rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and other small animals. - Encourages Foraging – Fresh aroma and texture keep pets engaged and promote natural eating habits. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07CJ2FRNC | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Allergen Information | Buckwheat Free | | Animal Food Diet Type | Plant-Based | | Animal Food Nutrient Content Claim | High Fiber | | Best Sellers Rank | #19,614 in Pet Supplies ( See Top 100 in Pet Supplies ) #168 in Small Animal Food | | Brand Name | Small Pet Select | | Breed Recommendation | Rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, degus, tortoises, and others. | | Container Type | Box | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars (3,876) | | Dog Breed Size | Small | | Flavor | Timothy Hay | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00611138712903 | | Included Components | Timothy Hay | | Item Form | Flake | | Item Type Name | 22nd cut Timothy hay | | Item Weight | 5.44 kg | | Manufacturer | Small Pet Select | | Manufacturer Part Number | 12lbs timothy 2nd | | Model Number | 2ndCutTimothy | | Number of Items | 1 | | Occasion | Birthday | | Package Size Name | 12 Pound | | Pet Type | Small Animal | | Special Ingredients | Timothy Hay | | Specific Uses For Product | Dental Care | | Target Species | Guinea Pig, Rabbit, Chinchilla, Degus, Tortoise | | UPC | 611138712903 850059056295 | | Unit Count | 192 Ounce | ## Product Details - **Age range (description):** Adult - **Brand:** Small Pet Select - **Flavour:** Timothy Hay - **Item form:** Flake - **Specific uses for product:** Dental Care ## Images ![Small Pet Select 2nd Cutting Perfect Blend Timothy Hay Pet Food for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas and Other Small Animals, Premium Natural Hay Grown in the US, 12 LB - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81SQPHlcItL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: What kind of cutting is this? 1st, 2nd, or 3rd? What is better to give a rabbit?** A: I've been buying timothy hay from Small Pet Select for about a year now. The cut depends on the time of year. They sell 1st cut and 2nd cut. This box was 2nd cut. It is still a much better quality then the local chain stores. And I love that it is delivered right to my house in a great storage box. They have a link on their page about the 1st and 2nd cut. http://smallpetselect.com/2nd-cut-timothy-hay-for-rabbits Hope this helps. :0) **Q: I've noticed lots of brown parts in this hay. Is that normal? It seems to get brown very quickly.** A: Hay will have some brown in it which is normal, although the second cutting has been very consistent in containing very little brown. If you feel that the hay has an unusual amount of brown please contact us and we make sure to resolve right away, thanks. **Q: Is this hay sun dried?** A: Yes, 2nd Cutting Timothy Hay is sun dried. **Q: Is this hay processed in a facility with nuts or peanuts? Does it say anywhere on the box? Thanks!** A: It's hand-picked and packaged in small batches. It's also 100% Timothy hay. Really excellent quality- my bunny gives it two ears up! I used to get the 2nd cutting, but now I get the 1st cutting since it is coarser so, IMO, better for the dental health of my bunny. Great company with excellent cutomer service & FAST shipping! ## Frequently Bought Together - Small Pet Select 2nd Cutting Perfect Blend Timothy Hay Pet Food for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas and Other Small Animals, Premium Natural Hay Grown in The US, 12 LB - Oxbow Essentials Rabbit Food, Adult Rabbit, Made with Oxbow Timothy Hay, Pet Pellets with Vitamins & Minerals, Small Animal Pet Products, Bunny Supplies, Made in USA, Bunny Food, 5 lb - Oxbow Animal Health Simple Rewards Apple Banana Treats, Timothy Hay Guinea Pig & Bunny Treats, Pet Snack, Made with Oxbow Guinea Pig Hay, Made in USA, Timothy for Rabbit, 3 oz Bag --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/717949382-small-pet-select-2nd-cutting-perfect-blend-timothy-hay-pet](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/717949382-small-pet-select-2nd-cutting-perfect-blend-timothy-hay-pet) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
