Chicks go crazy for this! Spoil your nuggets.
I am not a first-time chicken keeper, so when I see baby chicks go absolutely crazy over the food that I gave them, I know I’ve found something great. Do you know when you break out mealworms for your adult chickens and they go absolutely wild like kids at an Easter egg hunt? Well this mash had that effect for my baby chicks. They absolutely loved it. And I know it wasn’t just “feed” in general, because when I had to offer a standard mash from my feed store while I waited for my second batch of Mile Four to be delivered, and they practically turned their beaks up at it! Spoiled little babies!!! Super fresh. Love that it’s organic. My only gripe is the cost. But if that’s the price to pay for peace of mind, happy hens, and good eggs for my family down the road, I think it’s a worthwhile investment. Buy it! You’ll know what I’m talking about 😏

Great for classroom use
I purchased the starter mash (2lb bag) because we did an incubator of chicken eggs this year in my classroom and we were only keeping the chicks for a few days before sending them to their forever home (with one of the students). This mash was organic and had the correct protein content; it looked high-quality and the information in the item listing was thorough and helpful. Mostly though I was looking for a small bag since I’d only be feeding chicks for a few days! This product was absolutely perfect and the chicks loved it. We got hanging feeders and waterers and they worked like a charm. The children did try fermenting a portion of the food too, to see what the chicks would prefer. They did not care for it wet (24 hours or 72). So we just went with feeding it as-is.

Quality feed
Bought this feed because it does not have any soy or corn in it. Also not GMO. Wish it had a bit of mairgold flowers in it, but still a quality feed. Plus company is a small family owned mill, not a big corporation. I made one mistake though, I accidently ordered pellets instead of crumble for my week old bantam chicks. Hard for them to eat. so I ordered bag of crumble, and received it in 3 days! they're 2 months old now and have no problem eating the pellets, but I would definitely recommend starting with Crumble for any birds under 1 month old.
