Eltean Display Cabinet with Glass Doors and LED Lights

I needed a new cabinet to store some items from my closet. I have a black and white theme so I decided on these black cabinets for the sleeker and clean look. It turns out to be a great choice as the black color makes it look fancier than I expected. The cabinet looks great once fully assembled and there was plenty of room to store all my bags and other items of value. I especially like the glass doors. The light in the background brings attention to the items stored inside. It was fairly easy to install the glass doors and keeping them aligned. I’ve installed plenty of cabinets before and sometimes double doors can be tricky to even out, but I didn’t have a problem with these. The process of installing the whole cabinet took a little longer since I installed it by myself. An extra set of hands would it the process a lot faster, but it was not complicated to install on my own. This cabinet is a great addition to my room and my kids want one for their own room as well.

I bought two of these to display LEGO sets and books. Giving it 5 stars overall, 3/5 for the clarity of the listing. The dimensions given for the cabinet are external only. Display dimensions are 30" wide, 12" deep per shelf. Each shelf is 0.75" thick. The overall height of the cabinet inside without shelves is ~64". The shelves are fully adjustable. The 12" depth is a problem for several of my larger LEGO sets and I probably wouldn't have purchased them had I know it would be that shallow of a shelf, but the pain of disassembly and returning them, plus how pretty they ended up being, means I will keep them. They were packaged extremely well, but the boxes were extremely heavy, about 100lbs per box. Even with all the protection, some of the sheet metal pieces were slightly bent at the edges, but not badly. Before assembly, check that none of the pieces have dents or scratches that are too severe for your purposes. Once assembled, though, the cabinet is sturdy. I also like that it is raised from the floor for cleaning purposes. From floor to the bottom rail is 6" high. Cabinet build is great for the price. I assembled with a Philips head screwdriver. The directions estimate 30 mins. I did it alone in about 1 hour per cabinet, and I would consider myself an expert at flat pack furniture assembly. Note that if the doors are hanging very crooked, it probably means the feet need to be adjusted to level the cabinet since the hinges are essentially spring rods. Lastly, the lights. They each run on 4 AAA batteries. That's 20 total for a cabinet. I didn't feel like going through the hassle of installing and maintaining them, especially since I'm using them in my bedroom, so I can't comment any further on them.

I assembled my unit in 1 hour and 50 minutes. It took this long because I added non-stick wallpaper to my back panels. I love the overall look of the finished unit. I did have some issues along the way, though. I contacted the manufacturer about my door hinge pins being misaligned. The photos will show the concern I had. They advised me to go ahead and assemble the unit and they would make sure I was a satisfied customer. Needless to say, I followed their advice and the doors are fine, so far (4 weeks now). Now, to be honest, I see where some people feel it is sturdy while others feel it is fragile. For me, it's sturdy now that I have placed items in it and balanced the weight out. However, while assembling the unit, it fell over on me. As well, the right door fell out simultaneously. Fortunately for me, I caught the unit with my left hand and the right door with my right hand. (What a disaster that could have been). Again, as you can see from the photos, I added non-stick wallpaper (also ordered from Amazon). Overall, I am pleasantly happy with my unit. Final tip, find the video on YouTube where there is a demonstration of how to assemble the unit. Enjoy your unit.

This is a great display case. My husband built it for me and he said it was easy and almost fun to put together. Feels very sturdy and can hold a lot of weight. I collect rocks, which can be quite heavy. The lights were simple to install, just takes quite a few batteries. Well worth it though- the lights make a huge difference making my specimens shine. My biggest worry was about it arriving broken, but it was super secure and had no issues. It rocks, haha.

Looks nice but not very sturdy. The doors do not close flush against the magnets. Good storage capacity and lights make it look attractive. Very light so not very stable. The instructions were ok but putting it together was not very easy.

EDIT: Update from 3 to 5 stars. Seller responded to this review to offer a whole new cabinet (no return required). Their proactive and generous approach is impressive! PROS: Packaged well, arrived in good condition. Has great capacity for its very reasonable footprint. I was worried the metal would stick out as too industrial, but the black’s matte finish gives it a nice look. Not the easiest thing I’ve assembled… but I got it done in the end. CONS: I received two left doors. I didn’t want to bother with the hassle of requesting a replacement, so I flipped one to install as a right door. Unfortunately that left the handle slot in the wrong place. But the screws which were presumably for the handles were too big so I left the handles off. I also got bags of parts which were not for this build so idk what happened here. The instructions are ROUGH. You will need to have some ability to figure out the build yourself. Thankfully, the metal is forgiving if you have to unscrew something you installed wrong. TIP: If possible, having two people will greatly help. It took me 3 hours to build it alone. Having someone to hold pieces in place would’ve cut the time in half, at least.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU PURCHASE! Product looks decent once put together. Quality glass, powder coating is somewhat decent as well. Nothing spectacular! The problem is putting it together. Another quality control issue from China. When will we learn..right! The directions are as horrible as it gets. Even when you follow the sketchy directions nothing ends up right. I am a very capable hands on guy with all the tools as well. I had to pull out my grinder to construct. I then had to pull out the dremel to install the shelves once erected because of faulty QC. Also, arrived without the screw in prdestal feet. I would not buy again. Find something different if you can. You will NOT like the assembly at all. Nothing is cut right! The lights are terrible!

The shelf is great, great material, easy to assemble and looks awesome. My son is starting to fill up our house with all the LEGO he has so it's a great disply case for all his technics. I would say the only thing that was a little bit of a bummer is the lights, each light is battery operated and takes 4 AAA batteries so with 5 we are talking 20 AAA's. We luckily have a ton of rechargeables but becomes a real chore in the future. I would really prefer a plug in option for the lights. Love that they make it easy to take off and on with a magnet. All and all it's am awesome shelf and love the shelf quality.
