If you do not require use often, you can remove original battery, wrap in paper and write the battery size/number, Note/Mark which side goes up/polarity ( +/ - ) and tape it to the outside of your device. It is a good idea to grab some probe covers. Most illnesses can be shared by contact, one temperature reading to the next person. Otherwise wipe the probe tip with alcohol before placing it back in a ziplock baggie till needed again.

This works as intended. Would buy again if needed.

The thermometer that I received was not working. Amazon was great about giving me a refund.

I'm a pediatric home healthcare nurse, and I need to take my patient's temperature for my charting- plus, of course, health concerns. The thermometer at one of my cases is dying out, and I figured I'd buy one real quick that had a good rating. Normally, that's not really the protocol, but it's a bit different when you know that finances are a major obstacle. I saw 4 stars, with more than 5 reviews and an excellent price. I figured: Why not?Well, it really doesn't work well at all. Even with a lower axillary temperature, I should not be getting 93°F. I've taken a lot of axillary temperatures over time, so it's not the technique that's a problem. I tested it on myself too. I had the same problems. Sporadic temperatures, mostly too low for any claim of accuracy. Of course, I could have a defective unit.Oh, and forewarning: This model is extremely uncomfortable. If you have to assess fidgety young ones, go with a design or technology that won't agitate them. It takes a while for this model to get a reading, so save yourselves the pain. There are a lot of well-rated thermometers out there for less than $20. I'm just going to spend a bit more for better tech. Lesson learned.Normally, a 1-star rating is inappropriate if the item works, but temperature is pretty important. My patients have compromised respiratory systems and weaker immunity. If you're taking someone's temperature, you probably don't have room for inaccuracy either. It makes this product useless to me.

Its a entry level Thermometer, it takes close to a min or so to capture reading. Battery of the product was weak

Works good. I keep one in my first aid kit and another in the medicine cabinet. We have several grandchildren and it seems like at least one of them has the sniffles at any given time.I checked the indicated temperature of this thermometer against another and got the same reading so I am fairly confident that it reads accurately.It is surprising that an inexpensive little thermometer works so well.
