U. S. Navy and Marine Carrier-Based Aircraft of World War II

Well-written summary of WWII USN/USMC carrier aircraft.
This is an excellent book. I particularly appreciated the inclusion of the aircraft that did flew as prototypes, but that did not go into full production or operational service. The book addresses the subject in a complete and comprehensive manner. Well done.

Excellent Aircraft Reference
This is an excellent priority reference for history buffs and model builders. Aircraft descriptions are concise, yet thorough with high quality illustrations and detail photos that are in color wherever possible. A nice touch are the battle maps which give further context the operation of these aircraft. The entire book is only 114 pages in length, but the amount of information presented would normally require the consulting of multiple references. No fluff, every page has something of interest. The primary author Bert Kinzey is an old hand at publishing aircraft reference books. He and his illustrator Rock Roszak make a great team.

Must-Have Book for Aviation Enthusiast or Modeller
What a neat book! Good history and description of planes - even included a couple I've never heard of and I thought I'd seen everything. Includes color photos of areas of interest to the scale modeler like cockpits and gunnery positions.

Very good!
Great for a lot of reasons; art work, pictures and information on the particular aircraft.I do wish that books of this type, whether about planes, ships, tanks or whatever would provide longitudinal sectionsFor me, I would appreciate seeing the positioning of crews at there stations.Still a most enlightening book and wonderfully delineated.

nice pictures, not enough data
The descriptions of how the planes were ordered, manufactured, and modified were interesting and new to me. The pictures, especially of the cockpits were great. What was missing were numbers; what was the operational range of an SBD-3 with a 500lb bomb? With a 1000lb bomb? How did those numbers change with the SBD-4? I know from history books this was important, and I was disappointed not to learn anything about that from this book. Still, the book had a lot of interesting information and I'm glad I bought it.

Good information
Hubby is a model maker who puts as much info on correctness into his models. This likely was for a future build and he was pleased with the info.

Excellent book.
More info than I expected. Thoroughly enjoyed the read, and I learned a lot. Included prototypes of aircraft, that didn't enter production. Which I enjoyed. I have always loved Kinzey's books, even more so with the Kindle books. They have more info and photos than the print books. Plus you can enlarge the font for easier reading, as well as you can zoom in on the pictures to see details better. No more squinting at small photos. And you get all this for less money than a print book.

A Model Makers Copendium
This publication was a great overview of US Navy and Marine aircraft including those rare planes that never made it into service. A most enjoyable read. The photographs and artwork provide extra knowledge for those who are interested in aircraft paint schemes and markings.

Slapdash printing published on the cheap!
My first copy was guillotined 3mm out of true causing the book to be lopsided.Cheap paper causes high ink absorption detracting from the detail of the content. Obviously privately published to a cost not a quality product.A great shame becuase the content is very good.A good ship lost for an 'apporth of tar.

Disappointed
As I have a few of these in the digital editions I thought I new that I was going to get quality. Sadly these books are printed on what seems like basic a4 printer paper. Photos are washed out and grainy. Such a disappointment knowing how good they should have been. Can’t recommend the print editions until Detail and Scale reviews who prints their material
