to put in the main part of my trailer. I had a similar fan in my bathroom, but just a vent in the main part of the trailer where we sleep, cook and sit. So I purchased this one, which was easy to install and now we enjoy it, especially when it moves the air around and pulls the moisture from the kitchen area to the outside. This is important as moisture is death to a trailer or motorhome. It is very quiet and the price was right, especially the free shipping!

When I bought this I did not know about the issues with the voltage. Once I was able to get to the camper after all the snow melted I was able to check the voltage and it was sitting at 13.8 volts. I was really tempted to get a buck converter but decided to write to maxxair (airxcel) to see if it was true that they had an upgraded circuit board. Wrote to them and told them about the voltage in the camper and they sent out a new circuit board. I wrote back and asked if I was still going to need any type of buck converter and they wrote back stating that the board was rated at 10.6 volts to 15 volts. And it did not cost anything for the replacement. No problem installing the board but now have to wait for the weather to get descent again to install the fan in the camper. Customer service was very good and for the price I am really impressed with the fan so far.(Update) 5/5/2023Able to install the fan. The only complaint about the fan is it states it acts like a ceiling fan when in the closed position to help circulate the air around. However, that is not true. Even on high setting you cannot feel the air being re-circulated in the camper.(Update 6/23/2023Finally able to take the camper out for a couple of days and needless to say one of our hottest weeks. Had no issues with the fan. In the afternoon shut the fan off from the outside air to recirculate the cold air inside. It worked really well. In the evenings we shut the air conditioner off and just opened the maxair that is mounted in the bathroom. Opened 2 front windows in the camper and turned the fan on and setting of 3. Could not believe all the air that thing draws in through the windows. Wife actually thought there was a breeze coming in from outside. The fan basically ran for 48 hours straight between recirculating the air and exhaling air outside and no issues at all with anything.

This moves a lot of air if you wish to air out your camper. Installed in bathroom which is now the smoking room in bad weather....lol. The "rubber" on the buttons have somewhat disintegrated on mine. That I do not consider a big deal as it gets HEAVY use. The manual crank seams sturdy and has held up. It is easy to take the screen off and clean. Install outside/inside was a piece of cake if your moderately handy. Wish it had reverse but this could be done by adding a simple 12 volt 6-8 pole toggle switch. Note I do run a maxx air cover over mine, I do not have any clearance issues.

I replaced the original Fantastic fan in the RV bathroom with this one. It fit in perfectly! No hassles at all, and QUIET!!!! This is the way to go. Plus, it's cheaper than a new Fantastic fan!

Works so well in our camper. It was a replacement fan. It is quiet and draws so very well. Really helps to cool off the camper in the late spring and summer. If you close up your camper and just open the bedroom windows you will immediately feel a breeze being pulled in to cool you off. Great product!

I tested both MaxxAir 4401K vs Fantastic 1200 vent fans. I plan to install on 2018 Ram Promaster city with a very think 1 inch headliner.Both priced very affordable at around $110.The MaxxAir comes as a Vent (not a fan) that supposibly can't be reversed, but it CAN be if you get to the wires on motor side and I plan to even add a rocker switch to use as both a fan or vent.Fatastic has a 5 inch clearance on the roof side versus 4 inches for the MaxxAir.. this was kind of a big deal for me and my roof rack which clears only 4.5 inches. MaxxAir just looks lower profile and stealthier.On the inside the MaxAir takes an extra 1.5 inches from your headroom and if your headliner is not 2 inches thick (which mine is not) you will have to make a custom frame as you will have a gap. My headliner is going to be an inch so I need to add an 1 inch frame on top to that.The MaxxAir feels heavier and better built and the support brackets seem like they will fair much better in high winds.The clear blades on the Fan-tastic are transparent and the lid has an almost a clear blueish hue.. it's better looking from the inside and allows you see more of the outside when it's off..The Fantastic makes a whiny motor sound at all speeds and sounds like remote control car.. this would have driven me crazy condering that fan was going to be right next to my head...The MaxxAir is almost silent on 1 and 2 settings and on 3 and 4 it's a very acceptable sound of air moving fast. This is the biggest difference for me and very glad I gave them a look .Both seem to move A LOT of air.The MaxxAir has some plastic brackets on the roof side for a cover.. a cover I will never buy or use. The bracket holes have a rubber plugs that look like they might dry up and fail one day.. did not care for this, but I will have to live with it.One Update on the MaxxAir.. an unpleasant surprise that if power cuts to the unit and comes back the unit remains off.. This was not true for the Fan-tastic which had a much simpler controls and operation. I am planning to completely circumvent the MaxxAir speed control and add my own to avoid this.
