I like the scoop, but mine broke after 3 months of regular use. I like it well enough to order another, but I am disappointed

We found this a little harder to achieve a perfectly round ball of sorbet or ice cream. Both sorbet and ice cream didn't "slip off" on its own free will, but required a good tap to extract. I suppose this is better than the usual smooth design, but it isn't a miracle. I would buy again for the looks alone and lack of price difference from other quality options.

I've been waiting for this Ice Cream Scoop for about a year which was how long it took for amazon to have it in stock, but I have to say that this is the be all and end all of ice cream scoopers. First of all I was coming from a cheap plastic scooper I got from a brick and mortar store and a another cheap metal one which had a thin neck which would always bend when trying to get out rock cold ice cream. After reading about this scooper in a magazine and then online, I set it as a much needed accessory since my wife gave up getting both of us ice scream since the task was very arduous.As soon as she used it for the first time, she grew in love with it. A task that required a lot of elbow grease soon became as easy as using a heated knife to slice through butter. The front serrated DULL teeth is a much needed thing to get at the hard ice cream. The non flat bowl design is amazing when all you need to do is just scoop up a ball of ice cream and then just lightly tap it into the bowl. Prior I would always have to use a finger or a spoon to then take the scooped ice cream out of the scooper to put it into the bowl.The feel of it is also great, it feels solid and is pleasant to use. They're other scoopers out there which might be cheaper, but i feel with all of the functionality this is a great product.

I was looking for a scoop that would hold up for the long haul using with moderately hard ice cream (0F temperature). I was encouraged by the high ratings, throwing out the one 3 star rating stating it broke. I purchased this less than two months ago and used it probably one to two dozen times before it broke. The shaft in the handle is not very beefy and it sheared off about 3/4" below the neck. Appears to be made from potmetal. Too pricey for me to have to buy 6 every year. Perhaps if you're careful and only try to scrape a thin layer of ice cream at a time, it might last much longer, but for the price, I'd expect better material in the shaft.

To expensive for the product

Scoop works as described, cuts into hard ice cream and releases great. Only problem is the tang from the scoop that fits into the rubber grip necks down to two 1/8" diameter strips about 3/4" into the handle. Needless to say it doesn't take much to break at this point since the scoop is cast metal. Leaving you with a great scoop that has a VERY short handle.

We had a serrated ice cream scoop for years and one day it must have sprouted legs & ran away from home and we could not find another scoop like it, but after searching around Amazon we came across the Amco scoop & my wife & I decided " Well we might as well try this one" and low & behold this one works better then are old trustworthy scoop that ran away from home. Ice cream doesn't stick to it, it digs into hard frozen ice cream with ease & it is well worth the money.Now all I have to do is hope this scoop doesn't grow legs and disappears on us.

We bought ours in March of 2013, and it broke apart at the handle this week in the exact same manner as others have described. Always hand-washed, and we have a special compartment on our freezer that keeps ice cream at a softer consistency, so no way was this thing abused.

Best ice cream scoop ever. Had it for a few years now and I would never go back! Tho I don't imagine I will ever need to purchase another one this thing is solid, excellent build quality

I ordered four of thinking it is a good product, but after using it scooping hard ice cream, it all broke. Now trying to find something similar that would work better.

There is a weak point in the handle. Mine broke after 6 month.
