Definitely Works on Thick Hair and Mats
I was dubious that anything would cut through my senior King Charles' mats - especially a cordless trimmer - but this actually worked. My dog had #2 mats around his backside and matting under his chin due to drooling from dental disease. First, he was bathed and all mats worked through as much as possible with copious amounts of conditioner (cheap, human, brand) and a good brush, then I tackled everything with the #1 guard. He is pretty docile buy still gave me the stink eye when I went after the mats. Then I took the guard off and shaved him down to the skin. My beautician skills are awful, but he lost about 10 lbs of fur and seems happier despite the razor burn (my fault), so it was worth it. The trimmer ran for a solid hour off the initial charge. I cleaned the blades 3x during the job. They never once got too warm in my hands and seemed a bit quieter than my old corded ones. My dog is super passive and accustomed to professional grooming (pre-covid), so he doesn't mind the sound, but I would think it would be tolerable to a more anxious dog if introduced properly/slowly. I found the trimmer to be less heavy than my old corded ones, also. I've only used them once, but the initial cost already cost less than a professional grooming, so they are worth the money, no matter how many (or few) uses I get out of them. The set came with #1 - #4 guards, blade cleaning brush/tool, charger, blade cover, blade oil, scissors, and instructions within a cheap, plastic, case. I oiled the blades and charged the trimmer according to the instructions before use and cleaned the blades according to the instructions after use. Hopefully, these will last for many uses. Update: These are still doing a great job at cutting! I think I have used them 4 times since my initial review, and the blades are still sharp. I will update again after more uses. One caveat: I left the trimmers on the back porch, and the blades rusted from the humidity. I disassembled the blade to clean and oil them, and this allowed me to clean a lot of hair out of the motor housing area. I would recommend checking that area after every use and thoroughly cleaning it. Don't be me. Don't neglect that area and laugh in the face of Florida's wet summers. Update 2: These are still going strong! My one issue is that the blade gets a little warm (like almost 1 hour into it), which he doesn't like on low-hair areas like his tummy, but this is only because it takes me so long to groom him. I've just learned to do it faster by getting more experienced, but the clippers are still sharp and haven't lost power. To be sure, though, I have followed the care instructions, except for that 1 time mentioned above.

Finally I found a clipper that I can use.
I have a westie, who doesn't have hard coat any more since he had short haircut all the time and other cheap clippers won't last more than twice of usage. Still that's cheaper than send my dog to a groomer, I tried to deal with it but it made me so upset every time those wireless clippers died after one another so quickly. And. I found this lovely clipper and this does its job and at least this shave my dog's inner soft hair evenly and lasted without recharging until I finished. Only down thing is it's noisier than others so your dog'd be afraid and there is no light for recharging status so you'll have no idea how much you charged your clipper. But his is the only worth for the money clipper I ever had. I put 1 star out for those 2 down thing but as cheap clipper, it's hands down the BEST.

I Would Be Fired as A Dog Groomer but These Get me By In a Pinch!
As a mom who's juggled her fair share of last-minute crises, the WAHL Deluxe Pro Series Cordless Clipper Kit has been a savior for our family's adorable (and shaggy) golden doodle. Let's face it, getting a grooming appointment on short notice can be tougher than convincing teens to do chores, so having these clippers at home is like having a backup plan for your backup plan. The cordless design of these clippers is a game-changer – it's as if they're saying, 'Go ahead, chase your dog around the house, we've got you covered.' The lithium-ion battery ensures I have enough power to get through the grooming session without a mid-cut recharge panic. As for the results? Well, let's just say our golden doodle ends up looking 'unique' after my amateur grooming attempts. But the clippers are so efficient and easy to use, any hairstyle quirks are purely due to my novice skills, not their performance. The variety of guide combs is like having a cheat sheet for dog grooming – they help me avoid any drastic mistakes, and I'm getting better with each use. Plus, the low noise and vibration don't scare our furry friend, which is a big win. the WAHL Deluxe Pro Series Clipper Kit is a must-have for pet parents. It's user-friendly, efficient, and makes at-home dog grooming a feasible, even enjoyable, task. While I may not be a pro groomer, these clippers make sure our golden doodle is comfortable and well-groomed, embarrassing hairdos notwithstanding!

TLDR: Loud and Dull
Bought these because I trusted the brand, but overall really disappointed. Saying they're loud would be an understatement. They genuinely scare my dog when I'm using them, which is never a good thing. They also don't cut very well. I'm not even finished with my first cut and it feels like they're at the end of their life. The oneisall clippers I had previously lasted for years, so this is really disappointing. I've always used wahl for my personal clippers, but honestly after this that might be changing as well. Would not recommend. Update: officially gave up and went back to my oneisall clippers. Despite being old they were much more effective, and so much quieter. Unfortunately my dog starts shivering whenever he hears clippers now and I'm not sure I can finish( before he would close his eyes and vibe out like it was a spa day). I thought I was upgrading by buying Wahl, but instead I was destroying years of trust and my dog looks ridiculous. Plan on returning ASAP.

Blades will not continue to self-sharpen as advertised.
It is NOT self sharpening, the blades are not replaceable. The unit has worked great for over a year. It's still running well, but the blades won't cut. I may take it to a knife sharpener at the local Tractor Supply and see if he can sharpen the blade before buying another set. 25 years ago, I had a professional Wahl that I used for horses and dogs, you could replace the blades. I hate our disposable world.

Not durable at all!!!
Let me preface this and say I always use Wahl clippers for the men in my house and the human ones have lasted for years and are easy to clean and maintain, and juts very high quality. That’s why I went with this same brand when we got our new puppy. If I could give this zero stars for “durability”, I would. I have a standard poodle puppy whom I groom at home (and always have with other clippers). These worked great when they were brand new and the second time. I always clean and oil them according to the enclosed directions and the Wahl website. The third time I used them they got very hot only a few minutes in the cut (it takes me two , one hour sessions for a full groom). I had to keep cooling them off and taking breaks. It ended up taking me a full week to get his cut done. I cleaned and oiled them as I usually do before storage last month. Now yesterday I opened them to groom him this month (I was just doing a quick shave to 1/2” and 1/4” lengths again). The clippers didn’t get hot this time but ripped his hair and frayed the ends. They got stuck in his one leg and I had to peel them out of his hair but by bit. I cleaned them and took a look at them while they are running. Even on a full charge they do not move quickly enough anymore to actually cut the hair. So if you want a crappy set of clippers for your dog, go for it. Now I have to go spend money and have my dog get an “emergency clip” today at a groomer...kinda defeated the purpose of always grooming my own dogs and trying to save money especially now that I’m out of work. 😕

bought to groom Matted cat
I've only watched a few youtube vids on cutting mats of my semi-long haired cat. She is recently adopted and is covered in knotted fur. I've started slow, at little clipping each weekend, sometimes I'm only clipping on the top of a huge mat to loosen it from the sides and top. It took 3 weekend to clean both her hips and the cat is happy. The smaller 10 minutes or 15 minute also to give me time to learn. The clipper works great, I charged the clipper as recommended and after 3 weekends and a few hours use they are still sounding strong and doing a great job on the original charge. I'm using a little kid toothbrush to clean the blades after each use, that teeny tiny brush they supply is hard to hold and easy to lose, I like the long handle of a little kid toothbrush better. My last advice on the cat mats... never cut cat mats with the Wonderful scissors the kit supplies, I've snipped her skin twice, the skin stretches under and into the mats. Otherwise, The scissors are wonderful, I've cut my own bangs with them. The Wahl scissors are better than the fancy shiny scissors I used to use. I recommend this clipper and kit, if it's for a pet take it very slow and learn to be confident before trying to de-mat, and not all in one session. The mats do not need to cleared all in 1 hour, I aiming to have my cat cleared of mats fully by spring. I still have back legs and stomach... ohhh tender spots.

Cuts great, long-lasting battery
After over a year of use, love it even more. Battery lasts forever. I use it again two months later without charging in between. Comes with combs to vary trim length. Of course, if the comb can’t pass through the fur, the blades can’t cut so brush the dog first if you’re using a comb. We use this clipper on our hair too, saves on barber costs! Love the cordless feature, and if you do run out of battery juice you can use the clippers while they’re plugged in. The scissors are good too. Would buy again.

Awesome and loud
Cuts beautifully! Unfortunately, it sounds like a jet engine. My Toy Poodle’s new haircut looks great — but she’s still hiding in her “safe zone” plotting revenge.

Doesn't bind!!
This is my fourth try, over many years, at buying clippers for my very thick-coated terrier. The other clippers all would bind and pull her fur, resulting in constant stopping and unclogging the clippers before proceeding. I've just used these clippers for the first time, and they sliced through her fur like butter. As a result, the clipping went much more smoothly and quickly, with no distress to our pup. The only drawbacks I could comment on would be the on/off button, which I found unnecessarily difficult to switch one-handed, and I found them much more noisy than my other clippers. But I'll live with that in order to have clippers that work so well! I hope they continue to be as good.
