Excellent sound quality, see helpful note about updating firmware
Really pleased with this product. Sound quality is excellent and it looks very good, even though the speakers are larger than previous versions of this system. Be aware that when you carry out a firmware update, you need to pull out the power supply at the end of the update, wait 5 seconds and then plug in again and re-start the unit....this is not clear in the instructions and until you pull out the power, it looks like the unit has stopped working...TV screen etc will remain blank..... Only wish I could plug the I-pod into the back of the unit to hide the cable, instead of dropping down the flap at the front... Our unit went faulty end August 2015...Let's go Digital have been fantastic, cannot recommend them enough. They collected the unit, tested it and replaced it within the space of 3 weeks....

Very disappointing Panasonic SC-BTT885EBS 1200W 5.1 Blu-Ray Home Cinema
Please read this before throwing away your money and wasting your time dealing with problems. I am disappointed that other purchasers, who might have experienced similar problems with this Panasonic SC-BTT885EBS, have not written reviews. I had the first Panasonic SC-BTT885EBS delivered on 21 February 2015 connected up to a Panasonic Viera TX-65ax902B 4k TV. Then my troubles started big time. You would think the two, being the latest top range gadgets produced by the same manufacturer, would match up via their Panasonic Viera system. Oh no, wrong! I won't bore you with all the details of my frustrations with this Panasonic SC-BTT885EBS; however to keep it brief, 1. There were problems switching from the TV speakers to the speakers of the Panasonic SC-BTT885EBS and vice versa. 2. If I was watching a TV channel and wanted to switch over to play a Blu-Ray in the Panasonic SC-BTT885EBS, I got a blank screen whenever I insert a disk and it froze. I had to then switch off and then switch on the Panasonic SC-BTT885EBS at the mains and allow it to reboot in order to play a disk. 3. I found the eject/close touch/swipe switch on the unit very difficult to operate, requiring several attempts before it opened or closed. I made a number of phone calls to Panasonic technical service; I found them to be very pleasant and patient people who each time guided me through different processes to try to rectify the problems, however, with absolutely no success. I therefore rejected the item and received a full refund with no fuss from the Amazon supplier. Thinking that that particular item was faulty, I then purchased the same model from John Lewis. Surprise! Surprise! I encountered the same problems as with the previous one. After more fruitless phone calls to Panasonic nice technical people, I therefore rejected this second Panasonic SC-BTT885EBS and purchased in its place a Samsung HT-F9750W 7.1 home cinema, which meant paying an extra ยฃ399.05. John Lewis was extremely helpful and efficient with the exchange. I am very happy with the Samsung HT-F9750W 7.1 home cinema, which is superior quality and well worth the extra cost. I have owned all generations of Panasonic home cinemas and recorders/players going back to the Panasonic video cassette recorders in the 1980s to the latest 2014 blu-ray SC-BTT885EBS 1200W 5.1 Blu-Ray Home Cinema. I have never had any faults or breakdown with any, and I have always been extremely happy with all these Panasonic gadgets for which I will all give five stars, EXCEPT this latest, most disappointing 2014 blu-ray SC-BTT885EBS 1200W 5.1 Blu-Ray Home Cinema, which I am reluctant to give even ONE STAR. (I also returned the Panasonic Viera TX-65ax902B 4k TV, replacing it with a Samsung UE65HU8500 4K TV, and I advise you to read my review on that Panasonic TV).

Not totally wireless
While not totally wireless, it does do what it says on the tin.

A good peice of kit
This is a good peice of kit, I use the word good, because there wasnt anything great about it. The sound is good, it may just be my room but there was no magic coming out of it and wow those speakers are tall, I had to dispense with the base stands as my wife wouldnt have them in the room. The rear speakers are wired to the bluetooth receiver so they are not completely wireless. Sorry for the lack of "tech'y" comments but I just wanted a good sound and I got it. Hope this helps, not to bad value for money I would say.

Incredible spec, shame about the quality!
I've always bought Panasonic TVs and home cinema systems and when I saw the spec of this for just ยฃ599 it was a no-brainer. Setting it up is a breeze with the wireless rear speakers being a God send and the audio quality is exceptional. Blu-ray upscaling to 4K is great too, but... That's when it works. If it had been left off for a while (over night for example) I would have to remove the power lead and reinsert it just to get it to switch on. Then it was pot luck if it would get to the home menu or display anything on screen at all. Switching sources would often result in the box freezing too with no response from the remote or the buttons on the machine itself. Very disappointed as this certainly isn't the quality I'm used to from Panasonic. Returned for a refund within 3 days of ownership where the helpful guy in the Panasonic store admitted they had problems with their display unit too. That, coupled with a negative review on Amazon citing very similar problems, meant that I wasn't willing to take the chance on a replacement and have opted for a separate AV receiver and speaker package instead. A real shame given its ample specification and fantastic price. There don't seem to be many reports of issues with this online so thought I'd add my views to back up the other 1-star review here.

Fantastic system .
This system was purchased to compliment a Panasonic 55" curved tv , and it was well worth the money . With great surround sound when watching film and music blu ray , the experience is completely immersive , and greatly enhances the enjoyment and involvement .Add to this great 3d , brilliant 4k upscaling , blutooth, internet Wi-Fi and a host of other features , I have no hesitation in recommending this system . The one drawback ? it is a little slow to respond to instruction in comparison to my previous dvd system ,but once you learn to slow down your button pressing and pause a moment to let the box do its work , it works a treat .
