I do not believe they have carbs and you need to use sweetner with them. You can also get a flavor booster that works will with them. The sweetner recommended is EZ Sweetz. I really like this sweetner I have started using it in lieu of other available products. Hope this helps! Enjoy! **Q: If u are using them to flavor frostings or cakes is it worth it for each bottle being less than a tablespoon in other words would it be enough?** A: If you put an entire bottle in anything less than probably 2 gallons of frosting it would still probably be slightly too overpowering. If you're flavoring frostings a little goes a LONG way. I would add about 1-2 drops per cup of frosting as a base and add another 1 drop if it's not strong enough. Some flavors are slightly stronger than others, and a drop per cup of frosting still might be too strong. Diluting the flavors in a flavor carrier like propylene glycol or liquid sucralose is the best way to utilize these. I like the fact that I can customize each balm or set of balms for each person and that I can customize the ingredients per person (I have included the basic recipe below - but you can totally customize it) 1. The fragrance is really strong - which is a good thing because you use less product. 2. They taste fantastic - as part of the testing process I of course had to taste each and every one of these - some more than once - anything for science! 3. They blended well into other ingredients without separating 4. They did not change the color of the products being used - super important if you are making a tinted lip balm (as I did) Lip Balm Recipe 2 tbsp coconut oil 1 tbsp beeswax (grated) 1 tbsp shea butter 4 drops flavor oil 1/2 tsp mica powder for tint (optional) 1. Melt the coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax in a double boiler (I use a metal bowl over a sauce pan) 2. Stir the mixture frequently until completely melted. 3. When melted, stir in mica powder and flavor oil (I did use a couple of drops of Vitamin E oil in some of these to make is more moisturizing) 4. Once completely blended, pour mixture into containers and allow to cool. Favorite Blend so far - Coconut and Pineapple - tastes like a Pina Coloda!
