Jonesy: Nine Lives on the Nostromo

If you're a fan of Alien, or cats, or both then this is a fun book detailing some of the things Jonesy was up to on the Nostromo that we didn't see in the film. Short but sweet with lots of great illustrations.

The original Alien is my favorite movie. There has been... so much... alien franchise tie-in media. Comics, novels, merch, the Alien vs. Predator movies....just so much *meh*.I've consumed a lot of it. The game Alien Isolation used to be my favorite, but now this weird little book is.It's...delightful. A surprisingly accurate retelling of the story of Alien, except through the ideas of a doofy little cat. I bought it expecting a one-note-joke children's book to put on my "shelf of aliens crap." Instead I got something that made me—briefly—happy.Here's what makes it brilliant: The events of Alien are accurately depicted here. Yup, that one too. But from the adorable picture-book of the Nostromo's cat, Jonesy. And told without words, just lovely little watercolor squares.One of the most creative and effective genre mash-ups I've ever stumbled onto. Buy it, if only to support the author.

I love this book. It just so happens I hadn't be a red cat named Jonsie. I am a big fan of the movie series and had to have this book when I saw it. It is a delightful book, that I smiled my way through. Highly recommended for the lovers of the film's and cat lovers.

Then this is the PURrrr-fect (sorry for the blatent pun) conpanion book for your ALIEN collection shelf.It's basically the entire Ridley Scott cinematic masterpiece as told from the perspective of the Nostromo's token mascot JONES.....the ship's cat.Cute, often funny, rediculously adorable.....AND quite relatable to "cat people" on numberous occasions, this book will keep you grinning until the last page....I promiss !Seriously....if you are in fact a veracious ALIEN fan (and a devoted "cat person") then this book certainly falls under your "I NEED THIS" catagory!

The book's exactly what I expected, very cute story, no words because it's a cat. Really nice art and a great tie into the alien franchise. But they shipped it in a box with a couple bubbles and the corners were damaged.Get this from a local retailer if you care about the shape of the book, or buy a bunch of things with it so it will be packed better.

This book is mostly pictures. But if you love the movie and cats you will love this book. Not only does the author capture the spirit of the movie, but at the same time he captures everything we know about our cat friends. If one was to actually have a Nostromo, a cat named Jonesy, a nasty xenomorph and hidden cameras everywhere. This is what you would see. Well done and beautifully illustrated. Worth every penny and then some.

My boyfriend was amused! I watched Alien before our first date because he said it was one of his favorite movies. We watched the sequel, Aliens on our second date.

No dialogue, this is an illustrated book. A creative and fun perspective of the story of a favourite film. Great illustrations.

A cute book based on a dark film!

Io amo Alien, lo considero il miglior film di fantascienza che abbia mai visto, sia per quanto riguarda la storia, sia per quanto riguarda gli effetti speciali, sia per la regia, sia per le interpretazioni e lo story telling. E' un film che ho visto più e più volte. Non posso affermare di conoscerne a memoria le battute, ma quasi...Ebbene, qualche giorno fa mi sono imbattuto in una piccola perla narrativa a fumetti.Sulla Nostromo, il film ci racconta l'intera vicenda con gli occhi dell'equipaggio, ma c'è un membro di questo equipaggio che, pur avendo un ruolo determinante in alcune situazioni, è sempre stato messo in secondo piano. Parlo del gatto...Jonesy è il punto di vista del gatto. Si tratta di un libricino illustrato che ripercorre l'intera storia accaduta sulla astronave Nostromo vissuta dal piccolo felino che accompagna Ripley fino ai titoli di coda.La narrazione è affascinante. Gli atteggiamenti sono tipicamente quelli del gatto. E nel seguire la vicenda scopriremo che il piccoletto è stato una parte attiva della vicenda... Ma non vi svelo altro...I disegni sono splendidi. Il coloring è affascinante. Si tratta di un libricino piccolo, forse un po' costoso, ma di fattura notevole, con carta di qualità, una stampa ben realizzata, e una copertina pregiata.Per gli amanti della saga, è praticamente un Must Have!

Es una monada de lo más divertida.Como podéis imaginar no es para niños, sino para adultos con espíritu de niño, o adultos sin complejos.No tiene diálogos, así que da igual tu nivel de inglés.
