Not having tried it myself, I can at least confirm that my large African Cichlids love it (evidenced by my being splashed in the face when feeding them). I have tried many brands and pellet sizes - this is a quality product which seems to keep my fish happy, healthy and growing. And it keeps me happy by being not just a quality product, but a great price as well. I don't intend to change their food again. Aside from adding freeze dried worms or lettuce now and then as a special treat, this is the daily main diet that works best for my large aquarium. ## Features - Floating pellets allow easy monitoring of amount eaten - Will not cloud water - High in beta carotene and NS Germ, brings out natural brilliant colors - Promotes long healthy life - Contains stabilized vitamin C ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B000N33ZXI | | Additional Features | Special color enhancers for vibrant fish colors | | Age Range Description | All Life Stages | | Age range (description) | All Life Stages | | Allergen Information | Brazil Nuts Free | | Animal Food Diet Type | Plant-Based | | Animal Food Ingredient Claim | No Artificial Colors | | Best Sellers Rank | #36,774 in Pet Supplies ( See Top 100 in Pet Supplies ) #471 in Aquarium Fish Food | | Brand | Hikari | | Brand Name | Hikari | | Breed Recommendation | Large Breeds | | Container Type | Bottle | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 924 Reviews | | Dog Breed Size | Large | | Flavor | Fish | | Flavour | Fish | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00042055044288 | | Included Components | Hikari 8.8-Ounce Cichlid Gold Floating Pellets for Pets, Large | | Item Form | Pellet | | Item Type Name | Aquarium Fish | | Item Weight | 0.6 Pounds | | Item form | Pellet | | Manufacturer | Phillips Feed & Pet Supply Natural Balance | | Manufacturer Part Number | 42055044288 | | Model Number | 42055044288 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Occasion | Birthday | | Pet Type | Fish | | Product Benefits | Enhances fish color and supports immune system health | | Recommended Uses For Product | daily feeding, promoting fish health | | Special Ingredients | Fish Meal | | Special ingredients | Fish Meal | | Specific Uses For Product | Indoor | | Specific uses for product | Indoor | | Target Species | Fish | | UPC | 042055044288 | | Unit Count | 250 Grams | ## Product Details - **Age range (description):** All Life Stages - **Brand:** Hikari - **Flavour:** Fish - **Item form:** Pellet - **Specific uses for product:** Indoor ## Images ![Hikari 8.8-Ounce Cichlid Gold Floating Pellets for Pets, Lar - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81ltlbKHuVL.jpg) ![Hikari 8.8-Ounce Cichlid Gold Floating Pellets for Pets, Lar - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81z5bykQTCL.jpg) ![Hikari 8.8-Ounce Cichlid Gold Floating Pellets for Pets, Lar - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61MnajZFGDL.jpg) ![Hikari 8.8-Ounce Cichlid Gold Floating Pellets for Pets, Lar - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81o5yQx4h8L.jpg) ![Hikari 8.8-Ounce Cichlid Gold Floating Pellets for Pets, Lar - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51RTMnYhxIL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Their requirements *by S***A on 26 September 2026* Best food for your chidlids ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My African Cichlids like it! *by P***Y on 28 March 2016* What can I say about fish food?
