36" Fireplace Glass Door Set To Fit Heatilator Unit

Very nice set of after-market doors. Spare parts included pieces of variable sizes and a wrench to help adapt the doors to your model. Set was packaged extremely well; it would have been very difficult to damage the merchandise during shipment. I purchased this set based upon a positive comment from BURGESSUSA that the set would fit a Heatilator model NA-36. Unfortunately the bottom door post holes were not spaced quite far apart and the doors would not close. I had to slot the bottom holes with a reamer grinder to get the doors to fit correctly. The top door post holes in the NA-36 are part of the metal leaf spring which can be adjusted sideways with screws. I was able to adjust the fit and get the doors to snap shut like they are supposed to and was pleased with the result. But be aware that some modification will be required to install this set on the Heatilator model NA-36; they do not simply snap into place as the OEM design intended. My unit was manufactured 12/1996.

Very happy with this inexpensive, high quality set of fireplace doors for our older Heatilator fireplace. The installation took some time, but is fairly straightforward. The package includes all the hardware you need. I had trouble getting the doors to line up and close properly and spent some time trying different combinations of the longer mounting posts and changing their position in the doors. I got the doors perfectly aligned by adjusting the top clips, which screw into the fireplace frame and are also adjustable. So, there are six points to adjust when aligning the doors.These doors look great and do help with fireplace drafts, though they have a bit of a gap around the top and bottom, as required for proper ventilation.Overall, I'm glad we bought these doors and I'm pleased with the customer support.

We have a Heatilator EL36 model pre-fabricated fireplace. About a month ago, our 1 year old son became extremely interested in the fire place rocks. I only needed something that would act as a deterrent which was my reason for purchasing the doors. Now that I have them, I can say these are pretty nice for the money. I know that you can’t use the fireplace with them closed but that wasn’t my motivation for buying them. I can vouch that they are easy to install as it took me all of 5 minutes. The only catch may be the screws that’s hold in the spring clips. Once you get the doors in, don’t try to open the door past those screws are you will be fine. All in all, a good product for the cost.

I'm a little late posting this review as I have had these about a month, but like the other person said I wish I knew about the cheaper glass being put in them and not being able to shut the doors with a fire going. The doors are just ok, there is a decent gap between them and the way the doors are set up, there isn't much you can do about it. There are two options on the bottom of each door to adjust a screw that lets them move a little each way. If they are both moved inward (how they come out of the box), the doors can't close, if they are both outward they leave a gap and open odd. It's like right in the middle would have been the answer and I might try to tap a screw hole myself to do this at some point. While they will work for now, they do seem very generic and basic for the price.

I used this product for our wood burning fireplace. I like the looks of it and though it took a bit of adjusting to get it to sit right; I like it. The only thing I would say i didn’t like though it may be my ignorance, is you have to keep these open when burning wood (though I suppose the only sealed glass I have seen is on a gas fireplace!) I was just hoping that’s all. Anyway, great product for the price and it fits pretty well.

Updated!Heatilator Ec36 (prior to 1997) here. Doors don't fit. They match the height, but they are too wide, so they don't close. See image: this is the max closing you can get. Too bad because the doors look great! A real pity.Here is the updated part of the review.I had to work on it, and they are not a perfect fit still but now they close, had to change the shape of the iron bar behind the door and move the pins. If you are on my situation you are in for a fight with them. Also they don't fit completely straight but i might be able to fix also that issue. Again not a 5 minutes mounting process for me, but they'll do the job, eventually.

Correct doors but was difficult to adjust. i believe it was because the fireplace was poorly installed which gave us the trouble of adjusting the doors. I did not need the smaller or larger pins. Over all the doors now work great and look really good with our fireplace. HINT*** Look at the model number inside the fireplace to ensure this is the correct product. There should be a plate with a model number on it to ensure you are getting the correct doors for your fireplace. I am glad I did. I still had trouble installing the doors but like I said above, it really wasn’t the doors that was the issue, it was the builder and the installer of the fireplace that messed up our track.

The glass doors were made of solid material for the framing with durable thick glass. Easy installation with A fit perfect. There was a bit of adjustment that was required it was a little difficult for me to do. But I’m extremly happy with finished look it gave my wood burning fireplace. I would highly recommend them for someone who doesn’t want spend a fortune on a set of doors!
