Is that true? And is a clone not needed for the 820?** A: We copied or cloned the hard drive into iTunes on an external drive so we had all content currently on the computer. We replaced the drive with the new SSD, installed a new operating system and restored the drive via iTunes. It worked perfectly from the start. All files were organized as in the original. I’m not sure how you can replace the drive without cloning the old drive for reinstallation on the new one. **Q: What is read/write speed of this sdd installed on MacBook Pros?** A: I used the ssd for 3 months. Did see difference with mac book original one **Q: I have a macbookpro retina late2013, the chart says it's compatile with jetdrive 850 480gb gen2. is the published model (gen3) compatible with my mac?** A: I install it on a Mac Book Air 2017 and is working great, have no idea if it is compatible with 2013, sorry for the little help **Q: Is this model compatible as advertised with the macpro late 2013? i saw other similar products suggest to updated to mojave, if the trim is supported** A: Check your mac version in the Finder Menu -> HAbout this mac (mine was 11.1) and then check the compatibility table in the Trascend webpage. I bought the wrong item twice before checking it right. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/71492722-transcend-ts480gjdm850-480gb-jetdrive-850-nvme-pcie-gen3x4-ssd-solid](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/71492722-transcend-ts480gjdm850-480gb-jetdrive-850-nvme-pcie-gen3x4-ssd-solid) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-30*
