Works like a charm
I had so many carpenter bees in my backyard it was hard to even be outside anymore. I wasn't real confident about this product but I had to give something a try. I have 10 dead carpenter bees currently in the trap. You may not get any the first couple days, but I assure you they will eventually go in trap. I believe that height is a factor. hang it between 5-7 ft above ground. Also put it in a spot that sunlight hits for a portion of the day. You do those two things and you will for sure trap them.

Updated Review. Not "5 Stars." 1-Star Junk
Update:Less than two months of use and both kits have fallen apart. The wood pieces have split I was wrong; these kits are junk and in no way equal to (or better) than the Best Bee Brother kits.Don't waste your money.1 star.Original Review:I'm disappointed to see this off the market ("Currently unavailable"). So glad I bought a second one before it disappeared. If you're familiar with these traps, they're all basically the same. My recommendation is to buy ones (like this one) that are completely wood and not wood laminate and/or plastic. That's my issue with some of the Best Bee Brother products. The kits that have the green plastic roof just don't last. Glad to see BBB offering 100% wood kits (which I also bought as carpenter bees are "out of control" where I live.Anyway, this reviewed kit is a Chinese offering that is pretty good. I don't like that the bottom isn't a flip-open type like the BBB kit. So a bit more difficult to clean. But overall, nice. Hope it becomes available again. Until then (or in addition to), the BBB kits are available and are sold at about the same price (about $30 per trap).5 stars.

Carpenter Bee Trap
The carpenters bees were drilling holes in my deck. These work great I didn’t even have to use bate.

Effective, but the wood will split.
I posted 4 of these traps around my wood decks. Put a small amount of carpenter bee trap paste in each, and after a few days the bees were going in. Now all traps have bees in them and 2 are half full after 2-3 weeks. These traps do work. The wood tends to be soft and split so now I need to replace two before they fall apart. The traps are definitely effective at trapping bees so I'll purchase them again (unlike other traps I've tried), but they won't last long.

It actually works!
I was skeptical at first but I put this on my newly built shed and captured all the carpenter bees that were terrorizing my shed. The hardware isn't the strongest, could use a longer screw but works great.

not working
I’m adding live wood bee to the trap and hanging near areas of interest but I am not collecting bees. (Caught 2) My friend has similar style different brand and it fills with bees. I have 20 bees hovering my deck and nothing in my trap. Very disappointed.

Pretty but ineffective
Materials are ok. No bees captured all season, though. We saw quite a few buzzing around our deck but none of them ended up in the traps. There are old carpenter bee holes under the deck railings and stairs so we mounted the traps at the highest points on the wood deck. Nada. The listing doesn't mention any kind of lure needed, but it might be that we have to add some next season to catch any bees.

No more bees!
I have no more bees thanks to this little house. Sometime I have to save tiny lizards.
