Review: Seriously never buying another expensive rug again - Sorry for the bad picture quality, and for my boyfriend's thousand yard stare. He just looks like that. I was hopeful about this rug based on Safavieh's reputation, and somehow it still exceeded my expectations. It arrived very quickly, and rolled up (not folded as I've heard happens sometimes). I rolled it out last night and with the exception of the last couple inches along the edge, it immediately lays flat. Mild "new rug" smell but nothing too strong or chemical. It's very soft, thick, and plush. I admit I didn't actually measure the room before ordering the 6'7"x9 (because who has time for that kind of basic and commonsense pre-planning), so this thing was way bigger than I pictured, but I'm not bothered at all. If you, unlike me, are not an impulsive rug-buyer and actually do your homework (or have a basic ability to imagine scales of objects) then it won't be a surprise to you. The thing I was most worried about was the look of it--I doubted that one of these plush "faux oriental" rugs with faux distressing/antiquing was really a suitable alternative to the real thing. But it is! You really don't notice that it's not a "real" oriental rug until you're on top of it, and by that point the softness has won you over enough that you don't care. And the pattern is lovely! Looks just like the picture in my estimation, no brighter or duller. No comment on durability yet, so I'll update if it starts falling apart, but I agree with other reviewers that it certainly feels high quality. I feel sort of silly for ever thinking that a 50% off rug from World Market was ever a good deal. THIS is a deal. Review: Gorgeous! - Absolutely STUNNING! Very high-quality. Very thick and plush and comfortable but no shedding. ## Features - [DESIGN & PILE]: SAFAVIEH's Vintage Hamadan rug carries a distressed Persian medallion in red over multi, and its dense 5/8" pile sits low enough for a chair to glide in a living room, dining room or bedroom. - [DURABLE CONSTRUCTION]: Power-loomed from polypropylene at a 5/8" pile that sits flat under furniture and takes high-traffic areas, wearing evenly in an entryway, hallway, home office or kitchen. - [EASY CARE]: Vacuum regularly with the beater bar off, and blot spills promptly with mild detergent and cool water. - [WHAT TO EXPECT]: Rolling creases relax within a few days laid flat. The faded, distressed effect is printed into the weave, so tone varies deliberately across the field. A SAFAVIEH rug pad adds grip and protects the floor. - [TRUSTED BRAND]: For over a century, SAFAVIEH has been synonymous with exceptional quality and timeless design, a legacy carried through four generations. From New York, we offer rugs, furniture, lighting, and decor to help you design a space you love. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01LZRZADN | | Back Material Type | Rubber | | Best Sellers Rank | #223,427 in Home & Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Home & Kitchen ) #488 in Runner Rugs | | Brand | SAFAVIEH | | Brand Name | SAFAVIEH | | Color | Red/Multi | | Construction Type | Machine Made | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 783 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00889048247444 | | Included Components | Area Rug | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Item Dimensions L x W | 108"L x 79"W | | Item Shape | Rectangular | | Item Thickness | 1 inches | | Item Type Name | Oriental Traditional Persian Non-Shedding Stain Resistant Living Room Bedroom Area Rug | | Item Weight | 32 pounds | | Manufacturer | Safavieh | | Material | Polypropylene | | Material Type | Polypropylene | | Minimum Required Door Width | 30 inches | | Model Name | Vintage Hamadan Collection VTH213A | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Other Special Features of the Product | Stain Resistant | | Pattern | Geometric | | Pile Height | Low Pile | | Product Care Instructions | Vacuum regularly, spot clean stains, use professional cleaning when needed, avoid direct sunlight, and use non-slip pads | | Room Type | Living Room | | Rug Form Type | Area Rug | | Size | 6'7" x 9' (Rectangular) | | Style Name | Vintage | | Theme | Oriental,Vintage | | UPC | 889048247444 | | Unit Count | 59.25 Square Feet | | Warranty Type | Limited Warranty | | Water Resistance Level | Water Resistant | | Weave Type | Machine Made | ## Product Details - **Brand:** SAFAVIEH - **Item Weight:** 32 pounds - **Material:** Polypropylene - **Size:** 6'7" x 9' (Rectangular) - **Weave Type:** Machine Made ## Images ![SAFAVIEH Vintage Hamadan Area Rug 6'7"x9', Traditional Red & Multi VTH213A - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/A10EKQlkB5L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: you can see that in the product information, item weight is 1 pound)))) are they killing or it's just a mistake?** A: I think this may be a mistake. I would get again if and when I may need to replace it. **Q: is this outdoor safe?** A: No, not an outdoor rug. **Q: do you need a rug pad with this?** A: It’s best to have a rug pad under these **Q: Can I use this rug on vinyl floors?** A: Hi Sure you can but for all kinds of rugs it is recommended to put under pad ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seriously never buying another expensive rug again *by M***K on October 3, 2018* Sorry for the bad picture quality, and for my boyfriend's thousand yard stare. Very high-quality. Very thick and plush and comfortable but no shedding. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Like Walking on a Well-Traveled Storybook *by C***M on August 10, 2025* If rugs could talk, this one would have an accent, a passport full of stamps, and a thousand tales to tell. The colors are rich without being loud, like it knows it’s the star of the hallway but doesn’t need to shout about it. The traditional Persian design is absolutely stunning, the kind of pattern that makes guests casually glance down, pause, and then ask, “Where did you get this?” It’s soft underfoot without being delicate, which is perfect because our kitchen is basically a NASCAR track for kids, pets, and the occasional sock-sliding adult. Non-shedding? Check. Easy care? Also check. I’ve vacuumed, spot-cleaned, and even accidentally dropped an entire cup of coffee on it (don’t ask). It still looks like it just arrived. This runner instantly made my kitchen look intentional instead of “that weird space between island and perimeter cabinets.” If you’re on the fence, get it. It’s the kind of upgrade that makes you feel like your home suddenly got a little more put together, and maybe a little more worldly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — Love at first step. ## Frequently Bought Together - SAFAVIEH Vintage Hamadan Collection Area Rug - 6'7" x 9', Red & Multi, Oriental Traditional Persian Design, Non-Shedding & Easy Care, Ideal for High Traffic Areas in Living Room, Bedroom (VTH213A) - GORILLA GRIP Extra Strong Rug Pad Gripper, 6x9 FT, Grips Keep Area Rugs Safe and in Place, Thick Slip and Skid Resistant Pads for Hard Floors Under Carpet Mat Cushion and Hardwood Floor Protection --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/71469106-safavieh-vintage-hamadan-area-rug-67x9-traditional-red-and-multi](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/71469106-safavieh-vintage-hamadan-area-rug-67x9-traditional-red-and-multi) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-20*
