EDIT UPDATE- 3-20-16 The new strap broke on my bottle! :( Now this one lasted far longer then the first one that broke very quickly into ownership but still...we can put a man on the moon but we can't make a strap that doesn't break?! The bottle is excellent besides this one flaw. I can live without the strap but I do wonder if I might lose the cap over time rendering the bottle useless...EDIT- I just wanted to update this review. I reached out to customer service and they sent me a new BLACK strap along w/ the original STAINLESS FINISH bottle I had ordered! I was told that there was a manufacturing issue w/ the BLACK strap and that it was fixed with the new run. For those that had the issue of the BLACK strap breaking, I would reach out to customer service for a replacement. The new BLACK strap is a little thinner and a heck of a lot more pliable than the old one. I have now been using this BLACK strap for weeks and NO PROBLEMS. I am very happy that they fixed this issue and I'm confident it will work not fail. Looking back at the other reviews, the only issues were with the BLACK strap models...I have increased my review to FIVE stars.--------------------------I researched many different high quality insulated stainless steel bottles before selecting this one. Up until this morning, I was pretty satisfied with it.The first minor "problem" I had was the bottle was mis-labelled in package. I ordered the stainless steel finish and got the black finish. I didn't complain and figured it woulld not make a difference. It does, though, because the black finish absorbs heat easily affecting the liquid. But to be honest, it works so well it doesn't make a big difference to me.The other "issue" is that the lid is plastic and non-insulated so you can feel the temp of the liquid coming through it. I am not sure how easy it would be to insulate a lid but it certainly is an outlet for tempt of liquid to be lost. Again, that being said, it insulates for a long time.The final and most disappointing issue I encountered this morning is the strap broke while washing! :(. This strap is a selling point and I liked it, but in the back of my mind I questioned its durability. It is a thick and hard plastic. I thought is was durable but this morning as I was washing it it broke right at where it connects to the bottle! I wasn't being rough with it either which was all the more surprising.Now some of you considering this bottle might say, why are you complaining, just cut it off and use the bottle. I wish I could do that cleanly but the strap is connected to the cap of the small opening with some type of "button" connection and I am thinking it can't be cut off at this lid cleanly and it will look terrible.I am going to reach out to the manufacturer and see what they say...I will post back here my experience.

This bottle has a great design as it not only has an interior screen that prevents me from aspirating ice cubes, but also has an ingenious design for the lid. Main lid allows for easy insertion of typical ice cubes and easy fill. Small lid provides quick access for drinking, but stays connected to exterior strap so I don't have to worry about holding it in my hand or losing the lid. Excellent protection against leaks. My only complaint is it does not keep my water cold for more than an hour or two. I start with ice cold water, add 6-8 large ice cubes but within two hours it is lukewarm. Recently, I compared the cold performace of this bottle with an older thermos bottle of the same size. I put the same amount of ice and cold water in both. They were placed side-by-side in the center drink holders in my car and I then set off on a two hour drive in June in Florida. The water in the EcoVessel was no longer cold when I arrived. The water in the thermos was not only ice cold, but remained cold even after sitting in a hot car for several hours with the sun beating down on it. Stayed cold all the way home later that evening. I once left the thermos in my car overnight and 24 hours later it was still cold! So disappointed that the EcoVessel hasn't lived up to it's claims as I love everything else about it. Perhaps I received a defective one. Too late to return. I will still use it for every day use, but not when I need to keep my water cold all day, especially in the heat of Florida summers. UPDATE: EcoVessel reached out to me shortly after posting my review in 2019 and sent me a new bottle free of charge. Worked perfectly and keeps my drinks cold for over 24 hr. The first one I received was defective. It is December, 2023 as I write this update and I still use this bottle daily with no issues. Looks and functions like new. Do not hesitate to buy.

I use my EcoVessel for water and I absolutely LOVE it! (Love might not be a strong enough word.) It keeps water cold for hours and hours, even in a hot car! The two openings and strainer features are amazing. The small waterbottle type opening is perfect and something that most other insulated vessels don't have. One thing that the strainer does is block ice from spilling all over your face while drinking it, and I also think that the strainer slows down the water just enough that you never have to worry about an on slot of water! I have two, one for work and one for the home, so that I am never without my favorite water bottle. I also fill the waterbottle up before bed so that I can drink it as I'm getting ready for work. Every morning the water is ice cold and the ice is this perfect consistency! By the time I've left the house, I've already drank 20 ounces of water without realizing it. I wash my EcoVessel by hand and I do have to concentrate in getting in the nooks on the lid because I have noticed that a mildew/grime will form if I don't. The seals are leak proof, I've never had any issue with one spilling or leaking and while I've dented a few (dropping them while completely full of water) the dents are small and just show how much love my waterbottles get. The plastic strap seems very sturdy as I hold the it by the loop when it's full and I've never had any issues with it breaking. All around this is the best Insulated bottle that is out there, it offers you more variety than any others and is a great product. You might end up liking it so much you get one for the whole family like I did!

Finally, the (almost) perfect bottle! I use this mainly to brew loose leaf tea, so the strainer is great for that. I also like having the wide and narrow opening, making it easy to drink without spilling but also easy to clean. It will definitely keep your hot beverages hot and cold beverages cold for many hours. The strap seems to be holding up well so far. My only suggestion for improvement is to make the lid more grippy. The stainless steel can be pretty slippery, making it hard to open sometimes.

Fine quality

As I am writing this review, I own two Eco Vessel Boulder bottles, one of this form factor and the other that is the larger variant. And having used the larger one for a year, and recently revisiting the smaller one, I can safely say that these are the best bottles for keeping hot things hot and cold things cold. I mostly use my Eco Vessels for hot fluids and let me just say that their estimates, by all measures, are quite modest. While the contents won't remain at exactly the same temperature, they will remain near the correct temperature. So much so that I often leave with hot tea to work in the morning and after even a 9-10 hour work day, the tea will still be hot. I've never had a bottle of similar temperature preservation ability that wasn't a thermos, which has severely reduced volume and increased weight when compared to an Eco Vessel of comparable size. And even then, I find that some thermoses do not preserve temperatures as well as my Eco Vessels. Furthermore, the outside is incredibly durable, difficult to dent and almost impossible to destroy. Would recommend for literally any uses. Super tough but doesn't sacrifice it's temperature preservation capabilities for that toughness.

It’s worked a treat. Fantastic bottle for this hot weather. I fill mine with ice and I get a good days worth of ice water from it. The little filter also allows me to use it as an infusion bottle which is great if you want to experiment with different water flavours. Worry that carry strap may not be as robust as I’d liked. The bottle does get heavy but so far it’s held out.

I like the size of the bottle, and feels sturdy,However, The top of the bottle is actually breaking apart, despite only having it for a month.
