While this figure may not be everyone’s go-to—especially due to its monochromatic color scheme—I personally think this Godzilla is still worth it. The sculpt, articulation, and paint are major highlights. If color isn’t a concern for you, then by all means, grab this figure if you need a Shin Godzilla for your collection. If the color is what’s holding you back, I understand—I was in the same boat. I originally wanted the classic color scheme or one of the other variants. I only picked this one up reluctantly after seeing scalper prices for the colored versions. To my surprise, it exceeded my expectations. It’s a classic case of judging a book by its cover. Upon receiving this variant, I realized the paint job wasn’t just a lazy money grab. The monochromatic design features careful shading, hand-applied paint, and a finish that really pops in my collection—oddly enough, the lack of color works in its favor. I had a complete change of heart and came to truly appreciate this figure. It has even become my favorite Godzilla in my collection. If you’re on the fence or hesitant because of the color, I suggest giving it a chance. Having it in hand might just change your mind like it did mine—you may end up appreciating and loving it just as much as I do, even compared to the other color variants.
