Featuring 7200 RPM speed, SATA 6Gb/s interface, and 256MB cache, it leverages 4th generation HelioSeal helium technology for enhanced capacity and energy efficiency. With a 2.5 million hour MTBF and workload rating of 550TB/year, it delivers industry-leading reliability, security features like Instant Safe Erasing, and is optimized for high-density, scalable storage environments. ## Description By laying the foundation for a worry-free data center, HGST offers capabilities to conquer the explosion of data - Ultrastar He12 HDD. Designed to handle workloads up to 550TB per year, Ultrastar He12 HDD is the industry's first 12TB drive and uses PMR technology to make it ready for any enterprise-capacity application or environment. The stable internal environment created by 4th generation HelioSeal technology enables a new 8-disc design, increasing capacity by 20% compared to the previous generation 7-disc design. This highest-capacity helium drive offers the lowest power profile in the industry to help data center architects meet eco-environmental goals and requirements. Intended for 2.5 million hour MTBFs, the Ultrastar He12 hard drive offers the highest reliability available among all HDDs on the market today thanks to the successful design of its 10TB, 8TB and 6TB predecessors. Rely on HGST and Ultrastar He12 HDD to deliver greater capacity, more efficiency, greater reliability and more value to your data center. This unit includes a "Power Disable" feature that allows the host system to easily power the drive to perform a hard reset. Make sure your system supports this feature. ## Features - Instant Safe Erasing (ISE), Optimized Strength with Field-Proven Helium Design - Secure dual firmware for reliable upgrades, energy saving with lower idle W, TB than air drives - High-capacity storage for Big Data storage applications, perfect for cloud and hyperscalable storage that requires durability and security - Optimal for high-density data centers and centralized video surveillance for reliability, capacity density and energy efficiency ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07Y8GF5M6 | | Additional Features | Data Recovery Service | | Best Sellers Rank | #12,931 in Computers ( See Top 100 in Computers ) #41 in Internal Hard Drives | | Brand | HGST | | Built-In Media | 12TB Data Center Hard Drive, SATA Cable | | Cache Memory Installed Size | 12 | | Color | silver | | Compatible Devices | Desktop | | Connectivity Technology | SATA | | Connectivity technology | SATA | | Data Transfer Rate | 6 Gigabits Per Second | | Digital Storage Capacity | 12 TB | | Digital storage capacity | 12 TB | | Enclosure Material | Metal | | Form Factor | 3.5-inch | | Hard Disk Description | Mechanical Hard Disk | | Hard Disk Form Factor | 3.5 Inches | | Hard Disk Interface | Serial ATA | | Hard Disk Rotational Speed | 7200 RPM | | Hard disk form factor | 3.5 Inches | | Hard disk interface | Serial ATA | | Hard-Drive Size | 12 TB | | Hardware Connectivity | SATA 6.0 Gb/s | | Hardware Platform | PC | | Installation Type | Internal Hard Drive | | Manufacturer | HGST | | Media Speed | 150-180 MB/s | | Mfr Part Number | 0F30144-cr | | Model Name | HUH721212ALE600 | | Model Number | HUH721212ALE600 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Special features | Data Recovery Service | | Specific Uses For Product | Storage | | UPC | 760575880024 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** HGST - **Colour:** silver - **Compatible devices:** Desktop - **Connectivity technology:** SATA - **Digital storage capacity:** 12 TB - **Hard disk description:** Mechanical Hard Disk - **Hard disk form factor:** 3.5 Inches - **Hard disk interface:** Serial ATA - **Installation type:** Internal Hard Drive - **Special features:** Data Recovery Service ## Images ![HGST - WD Ultrastar DC HC520 HDD | HUH721212ALE600 | 12TB 7.2K SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache 3.5" Internal Hard Drive with Helium Data Center (Refurbished) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61aufnUOlOL.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - HGST - WD Ultrastar DC HC520 HDD | HUH721212ALE601 | 12TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache 3.5-Inch | ISE 512e | Helium Data Center Internal Hard Disk Drive (Renewed) - ARCTIC MX-4 (4 g) - Premium Performance Thermal Paste for All Processors (CPU, GPU - PC), Very high Thermal Conductivity, Long Durability, Safe Application, Non-Conductive - Samsung 990 EVO Plus SSD 1TB, PCIe Gen 4x4, Gen 5x2 M.2 2280, Speeds Up-to 7,250 MB/s, Upgrade Storage for PC/Laptops, HMB Technology and Intelligent Turbowrite 2.0, (MZ-V9S1T0B/AM) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/714234703-hgst-wd-ultrastar-dc-hc520-hdd-huh721212ale600-12tb-7-2k](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/714234703-hgst-wd-ultrastar-dc-hc520-hdd-huh721212ale600-12tb-7-2k) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-11-04*
