Apples vs Oranges? David vs. Goliath?
Is it fair to compare this new unit (left) to the old heavy duty one of yesteryear? Probably not.At the beginning of this heating season, I had noticed that a half a cup of water had leaked through the pressure valve. So I thought it was time to replace it. Once the new unit arrived, I remembered that I had bought a similar one some 4 years ago, and returned it unused. Once the old (heavy duty) one was uninstalled, I realized it can be cleaned out, and looked a lot more durable than the new one. Deja-vu, right. So, I do not plan to throw out the old one any time soon. I'm going to keep the new one as a spare, right on the furnace in easy reach, when needed. To facilitate a potential install, I'll also get a 3/4" female connector, because this valve has a male connector. Threading it directly into the top of the furnace, I'm afraid, would be too tight of a fit. Just like the old (and larger) one, it needs to be raised at least an inch so that the exhaust end of the pipe stays above the outer panel of the furnace. The four star rating is therefore an educated guess, as it is unpredictable when/if I will actually use this new unit, for reasons stated above. If it works, it is certainly a good value for the posted price.

Polished Well Made Relief Valve
I ordered this based on web-sites information and as a replacement to a leaking Valve on a five year old Gas water heater that was installed without a safety expansion tank. Another part of a hot water supply system all should have.I like this Relieve Valve very much. This Relief Valve is made with polished material throughout. Installed easily. Works great without fail.I highly recommend it.

Installed quickly with no leaks
This valve feels heavy. It's solid brass, with smooth threads. Feels like it's made to last. This valve is non-adjustable, (which is the most common) and comes with the spring set at 150 PSI at 210 degrees F.The package didn't include any teflon tape, as many products do, so pick some up if you don't already have a supply. Mine replaced a valve that was leaking a small amount, multiple times a day. It screwed in easily and hasn't leaked a drop since.

Does Its Job, No Fuss
This pressure relief valve is solidly built with thick brass and a sturdy stainless steel spring. It fits snugly with the 3/4" NPT connection and works exactly as expected. No leaks, no weird noises, just reliable pressure relief. It’s a little bulkier than some other options, but the quality is worth it. Installation was easy, and for the price, it’s a great value. Perfect for keeping a hot water system safe and running smoothly.
